The 'maison de maître', also called 'the Huguenot house' dates from the beginning of the 18th century. The old silk mill is a graceful construction, enhanced by the wide arches of the breakfast room. The actual rooms of the museum are set up in what were once the magnaneries (rooms for cultivating silk worms). A group of buildings dating from the 15th century shelters a traditional bread oven. Access is gained via a narrow passage decorated with flying buttresses.

Detailed Reviews
Lovely evening with great food in the restaurant. Room very comfortable and spotless. Bed firm and high quality. Unpretentious but elegant. These people know what they are doing and have got it right. Talking to other solo travelers we learned that it is by far the best hotel/restaurant in the area which explains why it was full mid-week in March. Hope to return. Might make diversion just to enjoy it again. Congratulations.

Arrived in the early evening. Can drive right up through the stone pillars to a shaded parking area Rooms are in a separate block from the reception, across the car park. We had a lovely double room on the ground floor. Bed was very comfortable, Separate shower and toilet. Would prefer to have a door rather than a shower curtain for the shower cubicle. Good quiet air conditioning. Wifi worked better the closer you were to reception. Lovely seating area outside. Was able to have our picnic under the shade of the tree. Good private swimming pool, with some sun loungers. There is a restaurant down the drive way for supper as well

+1
We had the pleasure of staying for eight nights whilst visiting family and exploring this loverly area of France.
We opted for the superior room and stayed in room 16. This is contained in a recently renovated building and the room has been appointed to a very high standard with modern clean lines.
The hotel grounds are stunning, with plenty of parking, a bar, free Wi-Fi, pool and this is a great base to explore from.
I would highly recommend it.

We spent just two nights at Clos des Arts but wished it had been longer. The surrounding roads are nothing to excite you, but the location provides easy access to the many activities in Cevanne National Park. What you will find in your stay is a beautiful, simple, laid-back hotel and restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic, well-priced food at the new restaurant. It is warm, welcoming and well run.

Pros: Warm welcome, friendly owners, familiar atmosphere -we felt like old friends. English spoken. Extremely clean. Free parking. Free wi-fi. Lots of calmness and tranquillity. Nice swimming pool, beautiful surroundings. Cozy common area in the garden. Attached to an interesting art museum (the Schonenberger Museum). They are building a restaurant; meanwhile, they have lots of recommendations on where to eat.
Cons: Nothing whatsoever.
Overall: Extremely good value (luxury for a very little price!). We will certainly return someday. It was a perfect stay.

We slept one night at Le Clos des Arts and we really enjoyed our stay. The owner is extremely friendly. The room are very nice and extremely clean. The prices are extremely good value. The breakfast was also good. They are currently building a restaurant which should be ready in 2013. Nice stay.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting the beautiful Cevennes area. The buildings on the property are very old, but our room was modern & spacious with a comfortable bed and well-appointed bathroom. There are lovely grounds, a swimming pool, lots of parking, WiFi, optional breakfast, even a museum! The hotel is set far back from the road so it's very quiet. We would definitely return.

Out of season, the hotel seems rather run down and uncared for. Staff are all friendly and helpful. The restaurant, just down the hill from the hotel, is good value and waiters are efficient. However, the pool area is neglected. Grass has not been cut, there are weeds everywhere, and unfortunately the surrounding area was full of insects. I was so badly bitten that I had to go to the doctor, and the bites took three weeks to subside. If the area had been kept clean and the grass cut, I am sure this would not have happened.
Our upgrade room turned out to be a Mezzanine. The stairs were very steep, and I think we should have been warned about this in advance.

This "Chambre d'Hotes is also a museum. Art is everywhere.
Professional service and first class accommodations.
Centrally located between the Cevennes and Provence, close to Uzes, Nimes and le Pont du Gard...
We enjoyed the friendliness of everyone working there.
We will be back.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed staying there very much and we were well received.
The two things that could be improved are the mattresses (very hard) and the breakfast (it would be nice to have some healthy options, as the breakfast consisted mostly of croissants, bread and jam).
