We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed staying there very much and we were well received. The two things that could be improved are the mattresses (very hard) and the breakfast (it would be nice to have some healthy options, as the breakfast consisted mostly of croissants, bread... More

This hotel is situated in an old, very beautiful, building with rooms in another building on the other side of the yard. We had a room upstairs with a mezzanine. As we were just two people that was no advantage to us. The double bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet The room was clean and with... More

Hotel was small and quaint. Bedrooms were tidy and clean. Staff were helpful although no English spoken here. You have to have some knowledge of the french language or you might struggle. There was a swimming pool tucked away but nippy as not heated. Gardens were pretty. Place was quiet. Good location for visiting the National Park. Would definitely return.

Arrived in the early evening. Can drive right up through the stone pillars to a shaded parking area Rooms are in a separate block from the reception, across the car park. We had a lovely double room on the ground floor. Bed was very comfortable, Separate shower and toilet. Would prefer to have a door rather than a shower curtain... More

We stayed for the third time at this truly beautiful hotel and will return again. The rooms are nicely planned and well kept, always clean and welcoming. Especially the more expensive rooms are very nicely and individuel decorated and quieter. Breakfast is - for a french breakfast - well done, even decaf espresso is available. The adjoining museum is worth... More

We spent just two nights at Clos des Arts but wished it had been longer. The surrounding roads are nothing to excite you, but the location provides easy access to the many activities in Cevanne National Park. What you will find in your stay is a beautiful, simple, laid-back hotel and restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic,... More

When we arrived at the hotel we were told that they didn't have our reservation. We had booked directly on the hotel's website and received an email confirmation, so they seem to have issues with their reservation system. They didn't apologize, weren't overly concerned that we now had to find another accomodation for 7 nights in the high season and... More

Spent 5 nights recently at this hotel, a delightful and unusual place. Its quite an arty place and has a nice vibe to it. Prices are competitive and the breakfasts, served in the spacious reception area, are good. There is a smallish outdoor swimming pool which is clean and great to use on a hot day. Rooms are clean and... More

Pros: Warm welcome, friendly owners, familiar atmosphere -we felt like old friends. English spoken. Extremely clean. Free parking. Free wi-fi. Lots of calmness and tranquillity. Nice swimming pool, beautiful surroundings. Cozy common area in the garden. Attached to an interesting art museum (the Schonenberger Museum). They are building a restaurant; meanwhile, they have lots of recommendations on where to eat.... More

We slept one night at Le Clos des Arts and we really enjoyed our stay. The owner is extremely friendly. The room are very nice and extremely clean. The prices are extremely good value. The breakfast was also good. They are currently building a restaurant which should be ready in 2013. Nice stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 'maison de maître', also called 'the Huguenot house' dates from the beginning of the 18th century. The old silk mill is a graceful construction, enhanced by the wide arches of the breakfast room. The actual rooms of the museum are set up in what were once the magnaneries (rooms for cultivating silk worms). A group of buildings dating from the 15th century shelters a traditional bread oven.
