We had one night here on our walking tour of Corsica. A nice old building with simple rooms and furnishings, but comfortable and clean. Jeanne the owner is really nice (with the best English we met anywhere) and made us very welcome. The breakfast was very good as well.

We stayed here with a group of friends as part of a walking tour of Corsica, on arrival Jeanne welcomed us and helped make us feel at home. Hotel Casa Balduina is very much like a quality British guest house, all the bedrooms were attractive and had en suite facilities, the rooms at the back probably had the better views...

Given its location in a very rural area, a 20 minute walk outside the tiny mountain village of Calacuccia, this place is great. If you expect a resort you will be disappointed though. Our room was small but elegant, with an amazing view of the old convent and snow-capped peaks beyond. We were able to watch a traditional shepherd with...

Currently stopping for 2 days at this hotel. Back home it would probably be called a guest house but the price very much reflects this. There is little sophistication here. No air con, safe and the breakfast comes on a tray rather than via a buffet. The whole area is pleasantly very rustic with cows and pigs roaming the countryside...

Whether you like or dislike this hotel seems to centre on the character of its owner, Jeanne. When we were there last week, she could not have been nicer. She really went out of her way to help. Having said that, it is clear that you take her on her own terms or don't bother! Oh, the hotel! It is...

This small hotel is outside of a small town in a fairly remote area of Corsica so to expect city standards would be unrealistic but the accommodation here is as good as could be hoped for. A charming lady welcomed us and made us feel at home. The room was small but cheerful and breakfast was the normal French one...

We've just come back from a week in lovely Corsica. Spent the first half of the week in Zonza (highly recommended - separate review under 'Hameaux de Cavanello') and the second half of the week in the Vallee Du Niolu in the northern mountains. It's EXTREMELY rural and cut off - other than the walking and some lovely river swimming,...

The hostess is amazing - Jeanne provides fantastic dinners and adds real character to the place. It is small hotel with a lovely arbour (honeysuckle and wisteria) where breakfasts and dinners are served. It is walking distance from Calacuccia and Albertacce and perfect for hiking and exploring the area. Our room had a lovely view of the mountains. The rooms...

“definitely ask for a view of the convent. There will be mountain views on both sides, however - this village is ringed by high mountain peaks! so there are no "bad" views!”
