We arrived at the hotel after having seen a roadside board advertising its presence. It is quite a distance from the main road and that emphasises the quietness and rural feel of the hotel. It looks like an 18C hunting lodge and the reception is in keeping with that with animal heads and tapestries on the wall. We were surprised...

While traveling France, we always try to stay at 3 pot Logis, the food is always above averagel and this is definitely no exception! as said elsewhere, the hotel is showing signs of age, however, everything works and is clean. the restaurant is simply wonderful and set in an original hunting lodge style of decor. the food is well prepared and of the region. the rooms are also attractive and the hotel is in a nice setting but unfortunately the mattress of our bed was very tired and sunk on the edges which made for a very poor night's sleep....

Rob N. has put it far more eloquently than I can. If you want to enjoy a fast disappearing France, and experience M et Mme Colas warmth, grace and charm, then stay. Only down side. I suspect the high calorie diet might become a problem after 4-5 days.

out of the way in a very scenic part of France, the auberge may at first look a bit shabby and tired but guests need to look past first appearance and enjoy the eccentricity of the place and its owners. very few hotels in France remain with such character and this is what we were looking for and we were...
