We decided to go to Green Lodge Tangkahan after 3 days of trekking in Bukit Lawang - it not so far away, but road is not good then be prepared for 2 hours ride. Tangkahan is really nice place for relax. There is visible that people lives in community and helps to each other. Accomodation is simple, cheap, very close...

....so do not expect anything but basic......power only available at certain times of the day, no hot water (but it's a steamy jungle) and toilets where you have to put water down to flush and put the paper in a bin !!! if you can't cope with this you may miss out on watching the monkeys in the trees, the...

Green Lodge is the perfect authentic stay at Tangkahan. Don't expect anything lavish, it's all very rustic, but adds to the charm of the whole experience. The staff is super friendly, helpful and insightful and the food is amazing. Great for solo travelers, couples and bigger parties. A true jungle experience.

After 3 hours drive through ragged plantation road, we arrived at the corner of Leuser National Park. Spent just 1 night at the Jungle Lodge, the hotel was clean and comfortable. Batang Serangan river right in front of the hotel, really fresh water surrounded by big trees, better than any swimming pool.

We stayed there for 1 night. The price for the room is really cheap. From its restaurant you have amazing views to the river, which is just downstairs from the huts. The hot springs are on the other side of the river and the elephants are about 45 mins away on foot. The food was good and the owner is...

In only three / four hours from Medan trip you can find a corner of the forest where you can make jungle safari riding elephants: Tangkahan! On the edge of Gunung Leuser national park the small village of Tangkahan became famous for its elephants, saved and kept for tourism purposes but also in respect of their nature. And Green Lodge...

I only spent one night but the staff were very helpful including getting up at 5:00 am to drive me to the bus stop. Peta and Tina were very nice. Electricity is only on in the evening but I got enough to recharge. Very basic. No sink, no flush toilet, I had two meals in Their restaurant which were fine.

I stayed for several nights at the Green Lodge during a Raw Wildlife Encounters tour and I loved it. Rustic, sure, if you can't handle showering with a bucket out of a fawcet or manual flushing, but who cares? We were on a jungle trek, we weren't looking for a Four Seasons. The hospitality was fantastically warm (especially Tina and...

What a fantastic lodge. None of the "luxuries" of a modern hotel, but everything you need and part of what makes this place such a wonderful experience. Tina & Agung were such wonderful hosts and just beautiful people. All our adventures based from here were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed all the locals from . Tina cooked such delicious food and...

This review is not a reflection on Tangkahan just the green lodge. Lovely place just not here. My family and I arrived at Green Lodge via transportation arranged by our amazing hosts in Bukit Lawang "Sams Bungalow" where we couldn't of asked for a better experience, this could be one of the reasons Green Lodge was such a rude shock....
