After hours of looking for an hotel in Luzern and finding nothing suitable, I 'zoomed' out a little on the map and found this. It was everything an hotel should be. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The place was very clean; the bed super comfortable; it was amazingly quiet and to top it all the view from the... More

Poor and suffocating breakfast with no vegetables. Unfriendly and unhelpful stuff. Uncomfortable and lousy bed and pillows. No elevator. The room door was broken, no body bother to fix it. Moist smell in the room and creaky floor. Baby crib mattress in low standard, very thin and not suitable. We needed to stay extra night before the flight back and... More

What a wonderful place to stay in a wonderful part of Switzerland. The staff were very friendly and helpfully and the rooms were of a generous size. The bus service stopped right out front for a short 10 minute trip into Lucerne. Would definitely stay again if I ever return to Lucerne.

We were happy with this hotel, during our stay to Lucerne. It was about a 10 minute drive to get to Old Town Lucerne. We were upgraded to a larger room and staff quickly resolved any concerns (we found the room cold and they supplied a space heater.) room was clean and breakfast was adequate. With Lucerne prices, this place... More

This was our second stay at Hotel Balm. This stay was not quite as good as the last for one very important reason. I forgot to ask for a lake view room! That said we had a great stay none the less. It is a great hotel. Service: Excellent Overall the service at the hotel is excellent. The people there... More

We decided to stay outside of Luzern, so we chose this hotel based on the reviews here. It was a great choice! We stayed for 2 nights in their "family room", which sleeps 4. The bed itself was comfortable, the sofa bed was not! But the room was large, clean, and had a very large bathroom with 2 sinks and... More

No elevator, no refrigerator, no drinking water either in bottles or vending machines. Bathroom has a translucent door so you can see the outline of your partner on the toilet. Also the sun comes straight through the sheer curtains and translucent door and beams in your face. The concierge we dealt with was for the large part, disagreeable.

My husband, 14 year old son and I stayed here for three nights. Such a great way to end our two week trip to Switzerland. Only a 15 minute bus trip from the central station...drops you right off at the front of the hotel. Peaceful, quiet, serene atmosphere. We had a great room with a little ball only which offered... We had a great two night stay here. The room was ample with a balcony and view of the mountains. The breakfast was excellent and can be taken on the terrace overlookng the mountains and lake. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is truly outstanding. Of course everything is very expensive in Switzerland, but this... More

The folks at Hotel Balm make you feel at home, and do their finest to provide striking views and warm accommodations. In easy distance to Lucerne/Luzern, but not in the hub-bub this is an excellent choice for those who want to encounter the striking views of the Lake of the Four Cantons and yet have easy access to lake steamers,...
