Detailed Reviews
This hotel is well-situated in a small hamlet with great countryside and wildlife nearby. Sadly, we were just passing through, but we plan to return.
The hotel is very clean ad comfortable, although our room was not large. It is (of course) very quiet. The restaurant was almost empty, but produced good home cooking - very large portions.
They could be more welcoming - we had to search out service a couple of times, and had the feeling that we were interrupting them.
Recommended.

We stayed in six hotels during a recent visit to Spain and while Hotel Tierra De La Reina probably provided the best room of all it also, without doubt, provided the worst breakfast ever.
On the plus side...the room was superb, the bed very comfortable and the hotel is situated in a wonderful area providing easy access to the Picos de Europa and on the Riaño to Potes road which is one of the most spectacularly beautiful you’re ever likely to drive.
On the debit side...the shower, which looked great, had a serious design fault and you’ll spend longer clearing up the flooded floor than you will actually showering, breakfast was dreadful - I honestly didn’t know you could mess up toast! - and, although the evening restaurant was friendlier it still left a lot to be desired.

Very cozy hotel.
It has everything you need to spend some magnificent days. The very helpful owners gave us all kinds of directions for routes through the area that are worth it.
Very clean.
They also provide a restaurant service, so it was very convenient because the town is quite small and at that time there were many restaurants closed.

They served us badly late and never even though we were not the last table to order. The orders were not well ordered. We ate at the table at the wrong time. The food was not great. It doesn't seem like a good place to eat, we were sitting in the kitchen waiting for more than 40 minutes

We have just spent three nights at this lovely hotel. Our room on the first floor overlooked the main road but the road was very quiet, particularly at night.
The hotel was well maintained and kept clean. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
There was plenty of choice in the restaurant which served meals every evening.
A perfect location for travelling around the Picos mountains.

I had to cancel my reservation and gave almost 30 days notice of the cancellation. According to the cancellation policy, they should refund me 60 percent of the deposit. I sent three emails to the hotel to request a refund but never received a response. Not happy!

The owners and staff are really friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. Rooms are very clean, hair dryer provided and toiletries topped up daily. The hotel has a good sized restaurant, bar and lovely beer garden with plenty of shaded areas. We stayed as part of a Wildwatchingspain nature trip, but the area is also popular with hikers, cyclists and bikers. It has a great atmosphere and is well located close to Riaño and Picos de Europa. We will definitely come back!

Ideal place to stay, eat and/or dine given its proximity to many hiking trails. A quick one is the Matapiojos route, easy to follow through wikilok, I attach a link to the route leaving from the same hotel. It is essential to try their nose and ear casserole.

This was our second stay in this hotel deep in the mountains of North West Spain, both times we have been booked into the hotel by Wildwatchingspain who organise nature watching in the area. Our first time was at Easter when we travelled down complete with our dog, who was just as welcomed as ourselves. The log fire in the bar/dining room was roaring away from each morning which was welcome given there was still much snow around.
Our second visit was at the beginning of September, this time minus the hound in order to be able to concentrate on the wildlife watching!
The hotel while quite basic is very clean, as are the rooms. By far the best aspect of the hotel is the warm and welcoming bar and dining room (especially when the fire is going!). They have good beers on tap or bottled, and a good selection of local wines. The food is amazing and as you would expect there is a lot of game meat on the menu! Venison and Wild Boar dishes abound, along with lamb and beef. I can especially recommend the amazing skewered lamb, and the venison stew! Also there are many amazing things on the tapas menu displayed by the bar, with the "Croquettes de la Caza (wild game)" being one of our favourites. Paco runs the bar, and Helena the kitchen, and they will both go out of their way to accommodate any requests.
Our food and drinks (beers, coffees and a bottle of wine a night with dinner) bill for 4 days came to just €130.
I'd highly recommend the Hotel Tierra De La Reina to anyone thinking of staying in the area. It is a great place to stay, and the fact that you can still find wolves and bears roaming the surrounding mountains and valleys makes this an amazing but yet little known place in Europe.

+1
After a long but wonderful journey from Bilbao to Boca Huergano, we stayed two days in this hotel and enjoyed it very much. First the landscape is beautiful, the hotel is surrounded by mountains where eagles and vultures often are often spotted. Second the crew is very nice and helpful, our large group didn't have to wait very long on their drinks (excellent Spanish beers) and snacks (delicious "croquettas con queso"). And finally there is plenty of room around the hotel where you can have a seat and enjoy the landscape with a drink in the evening, a perfect holiday feeling!
