It was'nt the first time that we came here, and there is a reason for. Not only is the Umbrian landscape in this region super, there is no overflow of tourists, and there are a lot of beautifull little romanesque churches around, apart from cities like Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto who are all easy accessibel from Cerreto . I had the tremendous pleasure of staying at this beautifully restored noble mansion for a long weekend in October 2014. It is owned and run by the lovely couple, Luigi and Christine. Best value in Italy? Yes. We had a two bedroom/bath with kitchen, and cooking equipment, with dining and sitting room three nights for 100 euro a night. Breakfast included. We chose Cerreto di Spoleto as a place to stay so we could be in a small mountain village and enjoy the peace as well as be able to day trip to the nearby cities. Casa Vacanza Piantamori was more than we could ever have expected. Wonderful hosts took care of us and offered hospitality beyond our expectations. Quickly settled...
