Beautifully appointed rooms and ambience; you are a guest of the Contessa. Asilo makes a good base to return to after day trips to Firenze, Pisa and San Gemignano. You need your own transport as Capanolli has no train station. Friendly staff and tasty continental breakfast starts the day beautifully.

This b&b is set in a little Italian paese I think it's a quaint little town which is surrounded by a number of other lovely towns This 18th century Tuscan villa offers luxury accommodation The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds The room has an ensuite I found the room to be quite dark even with lights switched on...

Thank you for your review. We are very glad that you have visited our Villa. The breakfast coffee, as written, is American coffee. We are always available to prepare an espresso on request. We look forward to your next vacation in Tuscany, hoping to give you the utmost comfort and relax. Thank you for visiting us and see you soon.

We had a wonderful time at Asilo Masi. All of the staff are lovely, but Denise and Samuel went the extra mile for us. Even driving us to and from a restaurant one evening. The rooms are to die for ;our suite was exquisite. We spend 4 days in paradise. Countess Christina you have a beautiful home. We shall be...

We were in this part of Tuscany principally for the Annual Andre Bocelli concert in his home town of Lajatico and wanted somewhere to stay which would capture the beauty and essence of Tuscany to make the event extra special .....we could not have done better. The welcome we received and the hospitality we enjoyed could not have been better....

Asilo Masi is an 18t Century family villa owned and painstakingly restored as a boutique Maison d'Hotes by Countess Cristina Gottii-Lega. Her classical and exquisite taste and attention to detail are reflected throughout the property, from the beautifully landscaped grounds (with 200 year old olive trees), to the second floor terrace with a panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside, to...

Beautiful hotel and garden but the small town is unattractive and with not much to do. We booked a deal through travel zoo for three nights and expected an open bar which was stated on my offer confirmation. This was not the case and felt very disappointed, we have informed travel zoo because the hotel staff were unhelpful. Be warned...

The villa is nice with a small but beautiful garden. We had an upgrade to the junior suite which was big and nice. The village itself is not beautiful at all and doesn't offer anything. We booked an offer which included the room, breakfast, dinner and open bar. When we arrived the staff told us, that we won't have open...

This is a true place with character. Gives you a feeling you are visiting your friends home, who left to skiing vacation in the mountains. The villa is full with absolutely fabulous details and pieces - antic furniture, pictures of well know artists, books on different languages. Each room has different design - it is quite interesting to have a...

Asilo Masi is not difficult to find but you don't realise you have arrived until you enter reception and then you know this hotel is going to be different . The communal rooms offer an unusual charm - which makes you feel "at home" in an instant. We stayed for 3 nights and experienced first class service throughout - the...

We arrived after mistaking Capannoli with Capanori and driving an extra 2hrs from Pisa. But the drive was worth it, to be greeted by a host with the loveliest warmest smile and an ambience of home away from home. This is not a hotel, its an experience of the truest form. A connection.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Asilo Masi offers 8 bedrooms (including 2 suites) in a restored historic mansion located in the historic centre of Capannoli, a village on the hills of Tuscany, very close to Andrea Bocelli's Teatro del Silenzio and perfectly located between Lucca, Pisa, Florence and the Chianti area. It's only 30 minutes drive from Pisa airport and is surrounded by thermal villages. Countess Cristina Gotti Lega combined her love for arts, food, luxury interiors and Tuscan hospitality when she redesigned the family building to transform it into the elegant house it is today. The facade was designed by Tuscan architect Luigi Bellincioni and the 18th century building was once used by the Gotti Lega family as a farm on their estate. It was then given to the nuns of Capannoli for them to use as a children's nursery ('Asilo' in Italian) until it was returned to the family. Handpicked antique furniture including Tuscan, European and Asian-inspired pieces by the Countess herself, artwork throughout (including in the rooms), extremely comfortable beds with luxury linen. Some rooms feature high-ceilings or original wooden beams, pin-drop silent and air-conditioned. All except one bathroom are en-suite, some with a separate walking shower and most feature custom-made tower racks. ... more   less
