I arranged lunch for six people to be part of a birthday celebration on what was always going to be a busy day and was really looking forward to arriving at The Red Lion. However we ran late at an earlier destination and rang the wonderful people at The Red Lion requesting that as we had only a little time...

Everyone at the Red Lion seems to want to provide a first-class service. They are extremely helpful and truly dog-friendly. Breakfast was excellent: a very wide choice with everything beautifully presented and very hot .I particularly enjoyed the poached egg on smoked haddock. In the evening, the Chef's specials were delicious and well thought out. Being a country inn, the...

I've been quite a few times now. I have to say, the service, food and value for money seem consistently excellent. They have nice gardens, guest ales and even pigs ears for dogs. You'll definitely need to book. But if you don't, the staff always seem to be able to fit you in, although there may be a short wait

I'm not sure I want to let you know how good this pub is because we'd have to share with even more people! Great food and friendly service, excellent garden to enjoy a sunny day while the kids play on the equipment. The specials board changes daily and main menu by season. Not the cheapest, but the place is ALWAYS...

This is a popular place to eat and quite rightly so. It never disappoints and to rate it as "excellent" is easy to do. There is an extensive full menu and weekday fixed-price offering, with two courses for £14 and delicious desserts for another £3. As usual, everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. There are local beers, including Hook...

David, Thank you so much for posting such a lovely review of your most recent visit to us. It makes all the hard work worth while when we read comments like this... and we love nothing more than an opportunity for a little sing song. Look forward to seeing you both next time you visit. Many, many thanks!

Very welcoming pub, specially if you have dogs. The food and the service are excellent. The special board has always local dishes, and we have had dinner there a couple of times and it has always been great.

What a welcoming and warm pub this is. The service was fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. The wine was good and food at lunch was superb. Will definitely be returning when next in the area. Can fully recommend the steak sandwich!

After a 5 mile walk around Long Crompton stopped in for a light lunch. Very friendly staff. Lovely food - I had the halloumi salad as a main and my husband had a ham sandwich. Not the cheapest lunch but very good quality and service. Would come again.

Visited the Red Lion on the off chance. First impression was that the menus may be expensive - but to our surprise the food on offer was reasonably priced.
