Such a treat to stay here and wine and dine, rooms are so comfortable and have lots of extras, staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you, the bar staff are polite and extremely helpful. A real home from home, breakfast is an experience and requests are catered for with ease. Throughly recommend this wonderful establishment.

Second visit and even better than last time, as there really is nothing to fault! Great menu, Adnams ale, lovely clean and tidy room, marvellous! The garden is well kept and a great place to sit on a warm afternoon.

The Dolphin is a lovely friendly pub with rooms in the slightly odd village of Thorpeness. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the fact that there are only three guest rooms adds to the comfortable homely feel. Our room was spacious and attractively decorated, with a large well-equipped bathroom, both immaculately clean. One detail that we liked was... More

I've just read recent reviews and have to say that our experience of staff, food and service during our 3 night stay was very different to those who were disappointed. From our initial greeting and check in, all the staff, on the bar, and serving evening meals and breakfasts, were delightful, cheerful and extremely helpful. They also made our dog... More

We have been lucky enough to come to The Dolphin on a few occasions and it has always been good. Went there last night and it has some flaws. Ordered a bottle of white wine and the barman brought this to us but it didn't feel very cold. We pointed this out and he said that it had been in... More

An impromptu Sunday evening meal after a day's wonderful coastal walk. A comfortable table for two plus the dog. Even though it was busy, the food and service were spot on and the 'sticky date pudding' was to die for! Thorpeness is as popular as ever, but The Dolphin does not take it's footfall for granted.

The Inn was buzzing as ever but they fitted us in for a meal and well worth the wait. Best was that food cooked in the Inn is sold in the village shop. Wonderful. Not cheap but well worth it. Both shop and pub are great value.

Great place, excellent service, well worth a visit, we only stopped for a couple of drinks and a sandwich, but both food and service excellent, especially from Rosie & Fionn, thoroughly recommend, well done.

Great local pub and Inn for anyone from families with kids to groups of friends, couples or even if your out alone just exploring. Also is dog friendly. Has an amazing vibe, friendly staff who go out their way to help. Inside and outside seating. Amazing food.

Keep walking through the archway and you will find the Dolphin, a but further up from the pond and the teashops/pub there. A nice large lawn area and outside dining. Great dressed crab. Get a drink from inside, then order from the food ordering area (outside). Dogs welcome - they provide water.
