We stayed here for one night in Feb and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely and friendly, very welcoming and chatty. We stayed in one of the four poster themed rooms - room 8, the room decor was fantastic and had a lovely balcony with views over the grounds and stream. It really felt like we were sleeping...

As a Christmas Gift we were given a Afternoon Tea Gift Voucher. Voucher states you can only book on line. On the hotel webpage there is no facility to book a Afternoon Tea. Tried to phone hotel reception on various days but nobody answers. Booked online for Orangery hoping it would understand we were not booking lunch. Got a email...

Many of the problems of this hotel – which could be fantastic – appear to stem from under-staffing, under-trained staff, and desperate lack of attention to detail. (It seems never to have occurred to them to check anything.) And poisonous levels of wood smoke. The Good Firstly, it’s important to state that Dalhousie Castle looks splendid on approach, especially when...

Stayed in room 17! Themed four poster room Robert the Bruce room! Possibly the best hotel room I've had, it just had something old, Scottish about it! I loved the room, this room for me was better than the one I stayed in at Cameron house! Something quite hunting about the whole hotel, great hotel, was really impressed! However here's...

I took my mother for Afternoon Tea on 4th February, amazing! We've both been for many Afternoon Teas & up until now Turquoise Thistle in York Place was by far the best choice over any of the large Edinburgh hotels, but now Dalhousie Castle is at the top of the tree! Beautiful setting, staff great (more senior staff member in...

Much better visit this time. We even got a full 30 min treatment. And the showers worked without overflowing or having someone else's dirty hair and scum floating around. And. Tada the spa pool was warm. This trip was a replacement for the last twice we had been. As both times the boiler was broken and the spa pool was...

We arrived very early on Saturday morning as we were in Edinburgh for the six nations. The receptionist checked if we could check in however as it was so early this wasn't possible they were able to keep our bags and said they were able to call us when the room was ready (we didn't take advantage of this as...

Dalhousie Castle is a beautiful 12th Century building oozing with charm and mystery. The biggest mystery however is why anyone would go back again after staying once! I've just returned from a one night stay that did little to inspire or relax me but most importantly, I'm still hungry! When we arrived the welcome was severely lacking. There was no...

What can I say, this place is amazing and then some, the views and building magnificent (just look at the pictures) & that my friend, is where the magic ends! When we drove up, I was so impressed, that all I could do was admire the beauty of the place. We arrived at 21.30 and all we wanted was some...
