It was pouring rain when we arrived. The host saw us drive into the parking lot, and when we didn't appear at reception right away, he came back to the parking lot with an umbrella and asked if we wanted to join him under the umbrella into reception. A very nice first impression! We were given our room key (one...

From my entry into the hotel the staff were accommodating and helpful.I was attending a conference in Liverpool and the hotel is well placed for the station .The breakfast was well presented and the restaurant was busy although I ate out.The garden is well placed for a summer beer/wine outside

Lovely stay, just for 1 night when visiting family. Very comfortable room and bed, great amenities in room. Excellent full English breakfast with very attentive and pleasant staff both in the restaurant and on reception.

As usual, good service, good food and some light hearted banter with the hard working staff. See you again soon. Have served us well over the years. The dessert trolley is excellent. Paul & Pauline Kendrick.

I lived in the town for the first 25 years of my life. I am now 71, so I know there has been a hotel here for a long time. We stayed here two years ago and were very glad to return. Hotels outside a chain have a different and more personal feel. Here the accent is on pleasant personal...

We were in the area for a dragonboat racing weekend and came across this little hotel. We had our 14 year old daughter with us who slept in the single room next door. The rooms were basic, very clean and the beds comfortable. The thing that makes this hotel great was the staff -they were exceptional, genuinely warm and friendly...

Stayed here recently for my sister's wedding and the staff, food and facilities were all top notch. Lovely food (it's always been great) and tasty breakfast was very welcome. Only gripe was that the corridors up to the rooms were a little small if you have luggage. Well worth a visit or a meal.

Recently visited Merseyside for family business. Accommodation arrangements with relatives got very ugly so we shot around in the morning to the Grove, where we had stayed a number of times before, and within minutes we had bed and breakfast arranged for that night. Phew!!! many thanks Grove Hotel. Lovely room, fantastic full English breakfast and as usual wonderful staff.
