I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand: the view was stunning. The bed was very comfortabele, I think it was a new matras. Room was a bit small, but clean and nice enough (although I would have appreciated a bedlamp). On the other hand: a lot of noice from the bar (weekday) When I finaly decided...

I will never return to this place (cant describe it as a Hotel), I have stayed at many Hotels around the world and I'm ashamed to say as a Scot that this place is by far the worst. Why- Cleanliness is non existent, arrived at 4p.m and the room was not ready, there was no lock on the door (apparently...

At £90 per night we expected a good standard hotel, however excessive noise from the bar wouldn't allow us to sleep, the door into the hotel kept being slammed shut during the night I.e 3am (which a soft closing door would remedy) and the walls between the rooms are paper thin. Breakfast we had to ask for glasses for the...

Definitely would not go back here. The food was an absolute rip off. When you spend the best part of £20 on a mixed grill you kinda expect something to wow you or at least fill you up. I've seen children's meals with more on a plate than that. The plate was supposed to be sizzling, I think look warm...

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the town. Most rooms have a terrific view over the sea. The hotel itself is somewhat dated. The rooms are clean ,many with shared facilities. The bar is functional although can be rather noisy with music.Very reasonably priced with a pint of Stella at £2.50. I stayed over on a business trip...

Well it's 1030pm and have been awake for 17 hours and not going to get much sleep. The hotel room is in good condition for a 2 star property. Unfortunately the music from the bar is very loud and can be heard in the rooms. Would suggest they regrade the unit from hotel to Inn with rooms. Didn't eat in...

Visited the hotel on business. From a distance it looks ok but the closer you get the more disappointing it looks and when you make the final approach that disappointment turns to trepidation. The room was actually ok. Clean, tidy, good bed, good pillows and all of that allowed a good sleep. Didn't manage to get dinner there but I...

We had a meal here while we holidayed in the area. The food was excellent and the steak in particular got high praise. The staff were friendly and the view from the window was spectacular. Would definitely recommend

Just moved into area and decided to try Knowes Hotel as saw in local paper it was serving food. I have to say the meal was the best we'd had in a long while. Good choice on the menu though my only gripe would be not as much choice for a vegetarian. I had the creamy mushroom starter followed by...

Our room was pleasant and comfortable with a nice view out towards the sea. The breakfast had a very limited choice for vegetarians, just egg, beans and toast. We were surprised to come back just after nine and find that the bar was closed for the night. Staff were friendly enough.

Thank Fyrish
