Nice cabins, great bed, good shower and amenities. Free Wifi in the Lobby-Restaurant area. Beautiful lake right next to the property. Used it as a base for our Buena Vista hiking trip. Highly recommended and a great value.

A number of wooden houses along a lake with ducks make up this resort. The rooms were not so big and had a funny wall compartment. They are also very cold since this is at 2000 meters. There is a small electric radiator which we forgot about. The beds are good and have three thick blankets (which is needed) apart...

Staff hardly english speaking. Hardly any choice in the restaurant, no written menu, 3 main dishes, 1 soup, 1 salad, 1 dessert. No info on possibilities in de surrounding of the hotel. 1 or 2 people present, act as waiter and receptionist at the same time. Bar has 1 red wine, do not do cocktails, no fresh juices.

We didn't stay in the accommodation, but did eat in the restaurant on three evenings and two lunchtimes. We were "refugees" from the Savegre hotel next door, where the food is indifferent and overpriced. The fixed price four course meal is great value at $14.00 and the food is freshly cooked and imaginative. Three of us are vegetarian and the...

The very steep 10km winding road leading way down (1000m) to the hotel is the beginning of an unbelievable descent to a truly magnificent natural beauty in all its splendor. The cabins are beautifully decorated and very clean; it gets chilly at night but the hotel provides the rooms with several blankets and a small space electric heater. The paths...

We stayed at the neighboring Savegre and were absolutely fed up with the buffet meals for $25 a person. This hotel/restaurant was recommended by one of our waiters at Savegre. I cannot recommend this property enough. We had a lovely meal (upscale) inclusive of an appetizer, salad, soup, a trout and a chicken filets plus desert and any drinks we...

The cabin we stayed in is very nice. Some people would call it rustic, I guess, but it has everything you need, including comfortable beds and a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake. We saw many birds that were new to us, including the Emerald Toucanet. The meals we had in the dining area were very good, and the staff went...

Our second trip to San Gerardo and while the facilites are very good this area is Little too crowed, like la Sabana en San Jose or Grand Central Park in NY and unfortunately the river is polluted with run off from all the trout ponds and dead fish. The Vulture is the most common bird and we had to go...

Sueños del Bosque is in an idyllic location beside a lake, where the valley of the river Savegre levels out. We were pleased to have chosen it, rather than one of the lodges further up the valley where temperatures can be cooler and the terrain steeper. The owners are creating a lovely environment, not only with the shallow lake and...

We really enjoyed our 2 nights at this location. It is in a lovely setting near the Savegre River with a small pond on the premises. My cabin was more than adequate. comfortable and roomy with a small deck overlooking the pond. Food in the restaurant was very good though limited. The facility, restaurant and all, seemed to be run...
