After reading glowing reviews about the Mahon hotel and a 2 hour drive i wasnt too impressed with the first impressions of the carpark entrance or reception areas , very 1980's . After being shown to our room through what seemed like a maze of corridors we opened the door to find other quests belongings were still in the room...

Stayed in Mahons with my wife and another couple. Great food, service and the accommodation was excellent as well as very reasonable. The staff could not have been anymore attentive even though we slept in for breakfast they still served it up with a smile and couldn't be more helpful Well worth the visit

We had lunch here yesterday. It's a busy week place the food is lovely with big portions. I had the beef dinner and it was served quickly and it was delicious. There isn't any airs of graces it's a nice country hotel. Bingo started at 3.30 - and the bar filled up fast. I will be back.

We went as a family to celebrate a birthday one evening in early December and it was a most enjoyable occasion! Food was good, service was good and all were well fed and refreshed!! I would definitely recommend the creamy bacon carbonara, so tasty and had to stop the other family members from continually wanting to have samples to taste!!

Returning to Mahon's Hotel was a repeat pleasure. Check in was efficient, the room was very large, comfortable and immaculately clean. The huge bed was extremely comfortable and the service both at dinner and breakfast was friendly and swift. I recommend the good food served here, home cooked and wonderful, with a range of flavours to suit all diners. This...

Stayed here with three friends mid week - staff were really pleasant. We Slept in an hour past check out and they asked us if we still wanted breakfast even though the kitchen had closed an hour earlier. We obliged and they brought us out four freshly cooked breakfasts. Rooms were also very clean and the price was very reasonable.

Had a wonderful family christening back in August. The staff were so attentive and the service was fabulous. We had a beautiful 3 course meal with our family. The staff were able to cater for a member of our party who had particular food requirements, this was unknown to the staff before we arrived, but they made every effort to...

Family went for dinner last week, to Mahons. The room was absolutely boiling hot to the point it was nearly too uncomfortable to eat. The food itself was average, starter was boring although great portions. Side salad was wet and almost mushy. Main course was ok, again lots of it but the execution let it down. Stuffing was nearly raw,...

Sorry to read your review about our hotel Sunday Carvery which is extremely popular with all our customers as you probably saw last week with the large crowd that was in the restaurant. The room was probably as you say boiling hot due to number of people in the room enjoying our Sunday Carvery. cant understand how stuffing was raw...

I have been staying in this wonderful family run hotel off and on since the late 80's, my first stay was for a period of four weeks and then for lesser periods of time. I returned after a gap of a good few years three weeks ago and again this week. The only way it has changed is with a...
