This is an excellent place to stay if you are in the Arenal area. Great location with fantastic views. Great rooms, staff and food. This was booked at a great price. Standard CR prices for food and drink so no bargain there. Don’t hesitate to spend a couple of nights here. We saw more wildlife from the hotel than we did in the National park.

Primarily we are disappointed that there is no gym although it says in the Hotels.com ad that there is one. When we asked the desk where it was, the staff laughed and said there is none. We went back to the room (because wifi is so bad it only works during periods un the room) and read the fine print on Hotels.com and it said the hotel has a partner deal with a gym in town. So we went back to front desk. According to the desk neither of these facts is true - nor a gym at the premises or any type of partner gym elsewhere. We were counting on a gym and that is partly why we chose this hotel. It is a scam to claim that you have a gym/ have access to one when you in fact do not. The desk personnel hardly regretted this fact and did not offer any type of compensation. Very rude. Otherwise, rooms are outdated, jacuzzi in the pool area is not at all hot and the food at the restaurant is of very poor quality and ridiculous prices, compared to what you get. Overall, if the staff would have shown any typ of ambition of customer service I would bit be wasting precious time on my holiday on writing this review but this is just not acceptable. PS lights by the sink do not work

What a wonderful place to stay with amazing views! We had a balcony view of the lake and volcano! When we were driving it is maybe five miles past the very touristy area with hot springs. We were thinking where is it? Arriving we thought paradise! It is a quite area with views that I did not want to leave. The breakfast is free with the room and very good. The pool and jacuzzi were just a delight in the afternoon. The rooms are big and comfortable with good air conditioning. Very clean. The customer service was excellent and they did everything to make you comfortable. My husband has medicine that needed refrigerator and they got us a small refrigerator to help us out. That was very kind. Customer Service with a smile! I would recommend if you are coming from San Jose do not drive at night. The road to La Fortuna is dark and has lots of turns! We stayed in San Jose and left in the morning. The drive is beautiful and you would not want to miss the views! Happy traveling!

Our experience at Hotel Linda Vista was more than we could have hoped for. First, when we arrived, there is a hand washing station at the main reception area (like most public places in Costa Rica) and the staff were all amazingly friendly. We arrived late in the evening and their restaurant is not currently open but Ana helped us call for delivery from a nearby restaurant. All the local restaurants served great food and we tried to eat at each to share the love. Our room had one of the best views on the property and we woke up the first morning to a perfectly clear view of the Arenal Volcano and the lake. We were able to have coffee on our balcony each morning before the breakfast included with the room rate. Breakfast was delicious and one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. You can choose either the tradicional Gallo Pinto or Americano and both are great and come with the same amazing view and fast service if you have planned for a full day of activities. Our room was very comfortably appointed with a mini-fridge, coffee maker, hair-dryer, and rainfall shower. I would recommend renting a car to explore the area and to check out the other restaurants in El Castillo and La Fortuna. But if you don’t have a car you could certainly make do with the tour transfer services and ordering food delivery each afternoon or evening. The pool was perfect to unwind in after a full day and the jacuzzi was just the perfect temperature. It was a quiet break from what I imagine to be packed thermal pools at other resorts. To top it all off we saw several species of birds and hummingbirds from our balcony including a pair of toucans! We’d recommend Hotel Linda Vista to all our friends and family and if ever come back to La Fortuna will stay here again.
