Lovely little pub with very hospitable landlord. The food is homemade and highly recommended. The steak and mushroom pie was delicious! Also had a good range of beers, including a very nice American IPA. Well worth a visit.

Popped in on the off chance of a pint and a snack and stayed for lunch as we were tempted by the homemade pie. We were not disappointed. Landord is very chatty but given that the first thing he said was would we like to try some beer, you have to agree that he's friendly. Don't know that I'd make...

A smaller and very well presented pub. There's a small but good range of beer, and lager with some 'off the beaten track' selections. There's a good range of pub classics on the menu, average pub prices; there's also a genuinely homemade specials board offering many pies and classic dishes. A genuine welcome promises a good visit along with a...

I stopped here with a friend on a cold winters evening a year or so ago and always said we would try lunch there one day. We arrived to total chaos. The (scouse) landlord had just been 'ambushed' by a large party arriving at 1.15pm ,fair enough that is what the pub is for. The poor guy was really frustrated...

As we were in the area and the brewery was closed. Popped in here for a quick drink. Nice if small garden out the back of pub. The landlord was very friendly and I would be happy to visit again when back in the area.

We pre-booked our meals on arrival with the landlord and were able to park there. After our walk we ordered our drinks and when we were ready the landlord brought out our meals. The theme here is good home cooked food which everyone felt was really tasty. Some of us just had room for a sweet, again homemade. One of...

Our walking group came to The Roebuck Inn for lunch today. Pre-ordered meals were promptly delivered, at reasonable prices. Cheery welcome from there publican. Those eating picnics bought a drink and were allowed to eat their sandwiches in the pub's garden. Everyone left for the second half of their walk satisfied.

The Landlord was a great host no doubt the reason the pub was full when we walked in. Offered a taste of an unusual beer prior to purchase. Beer was great, not a single complaint. We sat down for Sunday lunch (pre-booked) for a table of 6 expanded to 7 without warning. Service was superb food was superb price was...

A well maintained and clean village pub. Great country stroll lunch-stop off. A reasonable range of generous tasty sandwiches or baked potatoes on offer for lunch supported by usual range of drinks. Well worth bearing in mind if you visiting the local nature reserves
