My wife and I enjoy traveling quite a bit but we’ve never gone to the Caribbean before. I often thought St. Martin would be a good choice and the time seemed right to give it a try so… Orient Bay was pretty much how I thought it would be from my research. We didn’t rent a car and we didn’t need one. Everything for our 4 night getaway was within walking distance. More shops than I expected, a couple of grocery stores, plenty of restaurants and the beach! We spent a lot of time walking the beach, beautiful water, great people watching, great weather, a little cloudy each day but minor. Next time more sunscreen! The Palm Court hotel was great! The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The included breakfast was very nice, additional choices, additional cost but very reasonable. Room, number 7, ground floor was large, comfortable, mini fridge, microwave, double sinks, nice shower. The only negatives had nothing to do with the hotel. We arrived on a Saturday and the airport was pretty overwhelmed, it took a good hour to get through Border Control. We got a taxi, 40 USD, about 30-35 minutes, but a pretty uncomfortable van. The ride back to the airport was an even more uncomfortable ride so I have to do something about that next time. Also, it was as windy as I’d heard, but not a problem and there was some seaweed, but again not a problem. All in all, a great vacation and we’ll be back!…
We loved our time at this wonderful property! It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay on the island. This hotel is very clean and very well maintained. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the A/C works to perfection. Breakfast by the pool is great and the lady preparing and serving it was wonderful. There are great food options within easy walking distance, everything from convenience stores and pizza joints to fine dining restaurants are right down the street. We preferred dining at Le Telegraphe and ate there for 4 out of our 5 dinners on the island. Orient Beach is probably a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. Anne and her staff took great care of us and we are already planning a return trip.
We stayed at Palm Court for a week in March 2022. First, the Orient Bay area is in our opinion the best on the island, for those looking for a Caribbean island feel, without high rises or loud bars. The area around the airport is crammed, commercial in a negative way, with average beaches - feels like a different island. Palm Court is a very good boutique hotel, located 2-3 minutes from the Orient Bay beach, restaurants, a small but very good grocery store, and some other stores. The rooms are big, with the toilet in a room different from the shower room. The kitchenette was great for refrigerating cheese/small snacks and extra drinks. I would have given it the full five stars had it not been for two areas where improvements can be made: 1. The chairs and umbrellas at Bikini Beach are supposed to be free of charge for hotel guests. However, the people at Bikini Beach demanded a consumption of four drinks per person per day for that, which is not what "free" is about. I think this type of detail should be settled without the customers getting in the middle. However, the manager of the hotel pointed us out to the other place - Wai Plage - which was indeed great and not looking for a minimum consumption, although we occasionally had drinks and ate there. That location is about a hundred meters farther from the hotel; 2. The breakfast could use some variety. The cheese, fruit salad, yogurt, etc. are exactly the same every day. All in all, I highly recommend this place - we had a blast.…
This hotel was perfect in every way. Our 3rd floor room was extremely spacious and simply but beautifully furnished. The immaculate up to date bathroom had a gorgeous walk-in shower and 2 sinks. The room was big enough for a suite. Its sliding doors opened on to a private balcony that overlooked the attractive pool. The room had a very comfortable 4 poster bed, plenty of closet and drawer space, a desk, a big couch and a low table big enough for the 2 of us to eat dinner when we wanted to stay in. The a/c was quiet and the remote worked well. The WiFi was fast so we could stream our favorite programs (often not available on hotel TV systems). on our own devices. The hotel in former times had a sea view, now blocked by a new hotel, but the walk to the beach is very pleasant and only 5 minutes. We did not miss the view and would not have traded the delightful atmosphere at the Palm Court for the more expensive and formal-looking newer places. The breakfast is simple - coffee or tea, fresh-baked bread, juice, and cereals - but served in a charming setting by the pool. It can be supplemented with eggs, bacon, pancakes to order for an additional modest cost. We have stayed many times in St Martins. This place is now our favorite.…
We usually stay in timeshares on the Dutch side of St Maarten for trips with extended family, but my husband and I have started to do “just us” trips, staying in Orient Bay, because we love the island, and especially the French side for relaxation. The Palm Court was a great find for us. We booked it just a week before coming on a last-minute trip. The price was right - in fact, less expensive than a small AirBNB we booked for the same time last year, but it’s much nicer. The Palm Court is a 1 block walk to the Orient Village restaurants, and another block to the beach. Incredibly convenient. The rooms are what really make the Palm Court a stand-out. Everything is newly renovated and fresh. The rooms are a good size, with a seating area, efficiency kitchen and large bathroom (2 sinks - yeah!!!). The renovation was thoughtfully done - I really like the oversized drawers in the bathroom for storage. Other pluses in comparison to our rental last year are the included breakfast by the pool (croissant, yogurt, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice all free; eggs and other additions for cost); daily maid service; and the abundant parking in their gated lot. The Palm Court is a wonderful choice for those wanting to stay at gorgeous Orient Beach.…
The Palm Court Hotel is a modern, comfortable place to relax in the Orient Bay area. A five minute walk to the beach. A three minute walk to a cluster of several restaurants where you can enjoy dinner under the stars. The hotel was beautifully rebuilt after being damaged by a hurricane several years ago. The rooms have been given modern kitchenettes, but retain their beautiful furnishings. You have a view of the pool and the surrounding residential area. Breakfast is enjoyed every morning by the pool. These features and a wonderful management and staff make this a great place to stay.
check-in office hours are restricted, but a quick phone at the door and you are directed to our room. the room itself is FABULOUS, spacious, clean, comfy, quiet, good A/C, with balcony/patio (has a table w/ 2 chairs and one sun lounger). B/R is superb, clean, spacious, with shampoo, body lotion, shower cap, hair dryer (no conditioner). BTW: no hot water in the stand up shower, so enjoy some cold-showers. Kitchenette has a MW, coffeemaker and tea kettle and mini fridge (no tea/coffee supplies). the blinds aren't quit sun blocking so bring eye-shades. the included BF is a whole bunch of small bites (small bowl of fruit, yoghurt, muesli, coffee and tea, breads/croissants, jam and honey, fruit juice) and for extra charge of 6-8 euro can get scrambled eggs/ pancakes or mushroom onion omelet if you want to order separately. the property gives you access to free sunbeams at the local orient bay beach at 2 outfits (Bikini Beach and Waikiki beach club) which saves you about 20 euro. for the price we paid per night I think this place hits it out of the ball park, its a 3* property but more than adequate for comfortable sleeping and showering, a bit above average than 'basic' or 'no frills'. I'd recommend it bc the price is unbeatable for the level of cleanliness and comfort. the location is superb, walkable to the fabulous night dining area of Orient Village and all the orient bay beach clubs. supermarket close by! Highly recommended.…
Feels like home. Nobody better than Anne the manager. Great location. Gated entrance. Free breakfast. Nice clean rooms. Easy walk to beach or restaurants. Anne goes above and beyond to put it mildly. Can’t wait to get back. All rooms overlook pool. Tremendous value
My family and I came here over the summer and the stay was wonderful! Very beautiful property and the atmosphere is lovely! There is a lot of great food spots around and the beach is a two minute walk away!
Thank you for a splendid 14 days at your fantskisk hotel. Palm Court is I will say a Condo not a Hotel, but that is perfect. New renovated with separate WC, and very large bathroom. The bed is very large and comfor. AIl the apartments have view over the pool and it is 3 floor. Anne and her staff is very kindli and always at your servent. And the try alvays do the best for you. The rooms rate is include breakfast, whish are simly but very good. Pool is open 24/7 and is refresshing after a long evening. Palm Court is locat in a quiet area approximately 4min walk from the beach. There is grocery half way to the beach. I promise we will be back. ATM is 5 km away, and you need a car. But all places take card. And don't forget, this is an island and all need to transportation with boat or fly. So something is expensive.…
