The most relaxed I have felt in the longest time. Off the grid for most of the day which was great as my partner and I are addicted to our mobile phones. Willeke was an amazing host, such a lovely and friendly lady and made our 4 days there so memorable. She arranged for transport from the airport to the... More

1. Very convenient for "eat, sleep & dive" lifestyle as your small house will be only a few steps away from the sea, diveshop and the area where all all meals are served. 2. Cozy cottages with fan, shower (hot water during day), hammock:), balcony and comfortable bed. Bring your mosquito net along as there are hooks in the ceiling.... More

Willeke and Jerry are sincerely friendly people who want each one of their guests to be happy. They will help you with any inquiry and make you feel at home. The huts are basic (no air con, no hot water) but comfortable, cute and with a gorgeous view on the ocean. Food is delicious and the dive school with its... More

Wow , where do I start. We spent an amazing 18 nights here and got to know Willeke , Jerry and their family and the Bunaken slow pace of life. iIt does exactly what it says on the tin, its traditional Indonesian style, so laid back , fabulous food with fresh fish and chicken daily The communication from start to... Stayed 5 days at this cozy resort. Clean bungalows, hot water, great and lots of food, nice company. Also nice that they also use a Dutch account so I could pay my bill by wire transfer the night before I left. Wifi - if electricity would work on the island - was very quick. Couldn't dive because of some ear... More

Our stay at Happy Gecko has been a highlight of our Indonesian trip. Willeke and her husband Jerry are tremendously friendly and helpful. The dive shop is well run and the prices are very reasonable. The scuba diving was incredible, the best we've ever done. Turtles, sharks and an abundance of fish and corals. The breezy bungalows were comfortable and... More

Enjoyed our 3 nights stay here which was blessed with good sunny days. Fortunately for us , it was quiet except 1-2 other guests. This meant we were spoilt by willeke and her team's service. We even managed to get best room in the house ( up the hill...last one to the right...GREAT VIEW ). Meals were simple but delicious... More

Exceptional budget stay in Bunaken, had everything we needed: hot shower (it gets warm during the day), three meals and water provided. Bungalow had a fan so air won't be very cool unless there is any wind. This is place for relaxing, bare foot chilling with beautiful underwater. Peaceful stay and spent days snorkeling and diving and/or visiting Bunaken village... More

My 2nd visit to Bunaken in 12 years but 1st to Cicak Senang. Lovely little budget accommodation, 5 bungalows, all with beautiful views. Great to sit out on veranda and in hammock. Bungalow 1, nearest restaurant, is easier for those who have problems walking up hills/steps and is also the most private as it's further away (in height) from the... More

This is a small but delightful resort with brillaint owners and staff. Everything about this was excellent and friendly at time one forgot its a professional business - these are lovely people too ! Fantastic views, you get a bit of beach here - so although no-one is sun-bathing you can walk a long way along the sands at low/mid... More
