The guest house is a quiet place in Mookambika with average rooms but unfortunately no online or pre booking facility. Only walk in facility is available. Room rates are affordable but maintenance need be upgraded

The front desk staff is very arrogant.
They are scolding the customers. Worst experience. They are not giving room to online booked customers. There is no place to complain also. Front desk staffs are treating customers as slaves. The rooms are also very bad. Dnt book here.

Most trips to Kollur are made only for the purpose of visiting the Mookambika Temple and therefore the duration of stay will, essentially, be very short. Lalithambika Guest House, run by the Mookambika Temple, is adequate for a stay of a day or two. The charges are very nominal - Rs. 500/- for an AC room with an Indian Style toilet, Rs.600/- for an AC room with an AC room with a Western Style toilet. There are non AC rooms as well.
The AC rooms (as well as the non AC ones) are large, the toilet is relatively clean, given the fact that it is a temple town, with bus loads of pilgrims descending by the hour and there is running hot water, except at those times when there is load shedding. There is a restaurant in the ground floor of the guest house. It has a varied menu but did not appear to be very clean. But no restaurant in Kollur exudes that sense of cleanliness or hygiene! The restaurant also doubles up as a convenience store and you can pick up your soap, tooth paste, chips, soft drinks and mineral water from there. Thank God for that!
Unlike guest houses in some other temple towns of India, the Lalithambika is neither opulent nor grand. There is paint peeling off the walls, the wardrobes are not well maintained and there is only one plug point so that you cannot charge your mobile and laptop at the same time. It is very functional and devoid of all frills, but there is no compromise on the essentials.

Room Tip: Opt for an AC room. It is not very expensive and is likely to be in better condition as it is...

I booked the room online on Bangalore one website. The guest house has a/c room for 500rs. The room was neat and huge and also has hot water. It also has a balcony with amazing view of the mountains. This is a government guest house, not a hotel. You wont have room service. There is a hotel downstairs which servies south indian food.

We stayed in AC Double room. Room rent was only 600Rs
The Room was very spacious. Had hot water supply.

This guest house is managed by the temple authorities.
I highly recommend this when you plan to visit in Mookambika.

This is a very spacious hotel worth staying for two to three days.

The only problem is that there is no room service, no telephone.

Visited on 5 February 2014, stayed in room number A7.

Staff is co-operative. In comparison to other hotels, this is worth visiting.

Five star was given keeping mind the other hotel nearby which have less spacious room. Would recommend that changes needs to be introduced in terms of service improvements. I think we have to support this venture by staying there and utilizing the facilities.

Its a five minute walk from the Sri Mookambika Temple.

Average cleanliness in the room and bathroom. The cupboards inside were so dusty with cobwebs,we asked for another room..but that too was equally bad. Management ppl are not helpful. They dont give extra pillows or blankets even for a cost. The blankets had cigarette burns. We booked after reading the reviews here.. but was totally disappointed. Very average place.

One of the best available, value for money facilities in Kollur. Managed by the temple, you can avail online booking for this guest house. Take a print out of the booking, without it they do not entertain and if you want a print out in Kollur, it is very exorbitant. The facility is good in the A/c portion of the guest house when compared to private hotels, other similar facilities available for pilgrims, average pricing and has basic facilities like good ac, clean toilets and nice pathway with adequately safe parking. Do not expect luxury as it is for a common pilgrim and not luxury conscious ones. You also have a restaurant below which offers decent food. Make sure you have an advance booking if you are going on weekends or season times.
