We stayed in this delightful stone and brick hotel in the Parque National de Los Picos de Europa. There is nothing else much around apart from a few houses in a small village. Our breakfast and lunch were provided here.
Our room was lovely - very comfortable, clean and quiet. Bed and shower were good. Our host cooked traditional Cocido Lebaniedo, a rich meat stew with local chickpeas - extremely filling!. Wifi was available but patchy. We went for refreshing walk up through the neighbouring village for magnificent views.

We ate dinner at the Hotel Cosgaya restaurant twice while staying at the Hotel del Oso next door. While we have no experience of the hotel, don't be put off the restaurant by the mediocre reviews. Our first visit was mostly because the restaurant opened half an hour earlier than at our own hotel, and feeding small kids at Spanish restaurant hours (after a long day walking in the mountains) is a challenge. We returned because the food was simple and tasty, and the service was so open and friendly. The waiter "Bore" was easy going but attentive and helpful, with a good sense of humour. After several days of big heavy restaurant style meals it was nice having a lighter more home style meal. Don't be surprised if when ordering the dessert you are only offered a few choices - when we asked if we could have one of the other choices listed on the menu, the response was "oh, of course, but we don't make that one ourselves, we buy it". Refreshing to hear such honesty, and pride in their own work.

We were a little worried when we booked for dinner as the Patron was to say the least taciturn, but decided to live dangerously. The lady who served us was however very friendly and had a little english so could translate the dishes we weren't sure of. The meal (3 course "menu of the day") was very good at a reasonable price, as was the wine and served in a pleasant restaurant area. Would have been 5 star if the Patron could have managed a smile. In common with most of this area you do need to brush up your Spanish though a few words and sign language can get you through.

Extreme edges. Thank God I have a house in Liebama and I never stayed, but I did pass by the other day because I had been in the area and had eaten at EL OSO, the quintessential place in Liebana, and I had lost my wallet. I went to ask about all the places close to where we had been, in case someone had found it and left it in a bar, and the MABLE at the cafeteria almost sent me atp... Because since he had not eaten there, he was more interested. Madam, more empathy, because of course I will send anyone who asks me to your hotel. Luckily someone kind deposited it somewhere else. Better, he avoided meeting this lady.

A very nice, welcoming hotel, perfectly situated for exploring the region. The staff are very hard working to make sure you have a nice stay. It might not be the most modern place but it’s more than enough for a relaxing break in the mountains. There is a nice little restaurant service too, which provides good food after a day of walking.

Unfortunately I only stayed here for one night. I would have loved to have stayed for several more!
A beautiful hotel in a lovely part of Spain. The room was clean and tidy. It was surprisingly bigger than expected.
Wi-Fi was free and a delicious breakfast was also included. Staff were always friendly.
Dinner in the restaurant was amazing.
Highly recommend this quaint hotel in the mountains.

When we arrived it was rainy and misty …just perfect for 2 days in the mountains. The check in process was very quick, the lift took us up to a lovely room looking out to the misty mountains. We could open the windows to crisp fresh air …for a short time ..before a delicious dinner. The hotel also has a delightful lounge area where travellers can gather. Umbrellas to borrow are just near the door. It has wi-fi which worked well on the ground floor and at the top of the stairwell but it was patchy in our room. The manager was helpful even though our Spanish was meagre. Breakfasts and coffee were very good. Indoor plants and outdoor window boxes were well looked after and blooming profusely …a lovely stop on our journey.

We ate here with friends after we were unable to get a table at the Hotel Oso opposite. First impression was that the staff were pretty rude, which was a pity as we were a group of 8 giving business to what was essentially an empty restaurant on a Sunday in summer...we were a bit dubious at first but as it was getting late we had no other option! We sat outside on the lovely shady terrace, and we had a good meal, the food was good in general, much better than we expected on arrival, and we were able to have a nice long lazy lunch. It was a pity about the service...needless to say no tip!!

Clean, comfortable, and surprisingly good free WiFi. We had dinner here and it was excellent. Chick pea broth soup with noodles and a stew made of chick peas, pork, and sausage. All followed by flan. Some nice wines were served. They have a very nice sitting area.

Excellent service and nice big room at top of house. Good fixed 15 euro menu with glass of wine. Easy distance from Fuente De as well as Potes and super walking of various grades. Beautiful scenery and an added bonus was the small swimming pool.
