Having visited this hotel or destination many times it surpasses expectations every year.
The food is good and very plentiful, the wine list is encyclopediac. The staff are attentive, speak good English and very friendly. To sit with a G&T outside and enjoying the surrounding...More
What a pleasant stay we had! The staff is super friendly. The hotel looks very stylish, the rooms are large and beautiful with very comfy beds. The bathrooms are spacious and come with free toiletries. The rooms have a safe and mini-fridge, and huge wardrobes....More
As previously reported, have recently returned from a very pleasant short stay at del Oso. I cannot understand the comments by John K. Totally unjustified in my opinion. I would suggest that he must spend most of his time in the very top hotels and...More

From the Hotel del Oso, ideally with a good weather forecast, have an early breakfast and drive down to Potes then up and over the Santa Gloria Pass stopping to see 'the bear' and you can drive up to it. You then look across and with binoculars see the top station of the cable car and del Oso hidden below.
Drive on into Cares and with comfortable boots you can walk the Cares Gorge. We only do this end half and picnic and back to Cares for the drive back. But you can continue driving west and come down to Cangas de Onis giving you a breathtaking second gorge but if too long a day - enjoy the Parador! Or use this as your next stop if touring.
