More a B&B than a hotel as reception not manned but great rooms, stunning bathroom with twin showers and sinks to the deluxe double room. Great location just off the motorway. Need to pre-book the evening meal if wanted. Period furniture and decorations. Feels like staying in a classic French home.

We stayed for one night travelling from UK to the French Alps by car. The Villa Primerose is a beautiful old French mansion with huge character, secure free parking and lovely grounds situated just off the A26 between Reims and Troyes. Both of our hosts were delightfully friendly and helpful. They directed us to a very good local restaurant for...

Set in a magnificent late 19th Century home (built by the family of a very successful local brewer), this hotel is something of a time capsule, but tastefully brought up to date and offering good sized rooms and a good level of comfort.

Beautiful house, seems to have a lot of history and personality. The welcoming was also lovely. On the cons, the decoration is poor all over the house, bad taste which is a real shame given the potential of this place. Breakfast is made of mostly industrial preserved products (it's not the quantity that is the issue, it's the quality). I'd...

We stayed here twice, travelling to the Ardeche from London and then back again, around Christmas. Both times, we had a warm welcome and excellent stay. The owners also recommended an excellent local restaurant a short drive away (Chez Irene, which I have also reviewed). Breakfast was very good with superb croissants from the nearby patisserie. The owners have done...

We stayed one night on our way down to Limoge, mainly based on the reviews on here. First thing, I couldn't understand why couldn't we check in prior to 16:30? When we arrived we found out. There is no one there prior to 16:30. Its not a Hotel as much as a guest house. The lady who met us was...

On our road trip down through France we stayed in a couple of Ibis hotels - somehow we came across Villa Primerose, and stayed here on our return. For the same price as an Ibis you get to stay somewhere far, far grander, with so much character, The Villa is a grand building set in a nice garden. Off street...

Wow - what a find! Three and a half hours from Calais by car, a beautiful building in a lovely quiet location. Two adults and two kids, a quick walk down the road for an easy supper at le pomme d'or, home to comfortable beds in a huge room with balcony and big bathroom. A shame it was just a...

Stayed here overnight on way to Switzerland. It's a fantastic place, full of character and run by genuinely nice people. Going to have to thank Charles (doesn't everybody) for taking the time to chat when he clearly had plenty of work to be getting on with. Kids loved the historical side of the building. Great place to stop over when...

Beautiful building. We stayed in the apartment which was perfect. Good sized bedrooms, nice lounge, well stocked kitchen. Parking available and lovely garden with patio furniture to relax in the sun! Very friendly staff. One suggestion would be a better selection of food for breakfast, but what was served was very nice.

Thank Sue L
