This place was recommended to us so we thought we would give it a go. We didn't expect much as the venue itself is a little dated, however the food was amazing, had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

Tomas, the chef is very friendly & helpful & his food excellent. All six of us ate well with not one complaint. Loved the home-made steak & ale pie. We even got a lovely glass of Polish liqueur at the end. How nice is that? Would highly recommend.

Stopped by for an evening meal as staying locally on an outdoors break... Warm welcome. We were the only two in the restaurant side for most of the time we were there so very very quiet (midweek evening) but the food was tasty and even though the selection of vegetarian items in the menu were small, the staff were very...

We enjoyed our meals. There was a warm welcome and a roaring log fire. Not many in on a wet Thursday evening and we were served quickly by the lady behind the bar. A real plus is that dogs are allowed in the public bar so we could take him in while we ate. There is a posher dog free...

My wife and I determined that we would eat in this hotel because we had heard good reviews. It seems the chef likes to come and take the orders however, after about 20 minutes the barmaid came over our order because chef was busy! Not the most cheery barmaid but our order was taken. All we ordered was 2 steak...

Tomas, the chef and owner of this small hotel in the main square of Newcastleton, was incredibly helpful and willing to make adjustments to the menu to accommodate our low-fat / high fibre diet. His home made soups are really delicious and sustaining. As a fitness outdoor type himself he was very accommodating to our health needs as well as...
