Misty Lake is a discreet hideaway set amidst a stunningly picturesque landscape. Surrounded by fruit trees and scenic views composed of undulating tea clad hill slopes that turn to dense forest stemming with wildlife, higher up in the mountains -your days here are filled with the whisper of the wind, calls of birds and mist drifting into the valley below.
Turning off at the highway to Munnar town and driving on the road to Aanachal, one is getting further away from the bustle of the tourist trail. A perceptible hush hangs in the bracing air as little hamlets are passed intermittently on the journey. The road dips and then climbs, crossing sparkling rivulets and little waterfalls. Further on the mountains start to reach for the sky, the thick forests on their slopes, remnants from time immemorial.
Guests arrive at Misty Lake through a paved path that travels to the apex of a hillock where one is received and checked in. The welcoming party also comprises numerous birds in the trees, exuberant in their mellifluous greetings. A cluster of cottages with distinctive pyramidical roofs is situated lower down the slope of the hillock, their balconies facing the dip of a valley, looking over a line of bramble and silver oak trees. Paved pathways fringed with lamps link the cottages. Further on, higher up the slope, the resort's multi cuisine restaurant set beside a badminton court and play area for children and a couple of cottages, all, look out at a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape and the seemingly endless stretches of mountains in the distance.
The property is for most part surrounded by a fascinating range of trees, spice and flowering plants all grown organically- require list of species -.At dawn, clouds of mist descend to the bowl of the valley beneath the cottages. As the sun rises higher, pink streaked tendrils of mist rise in the air making for a most memorable sight. The phenomenon maybe repeated at different times during the day, weather permitting, earning the resort the sobriquet - Misty Lake.
Accommodation at Misty Lake consists of ....Distinctively shaped cottages set amidst trees, some yielding luscious fruit and a profusion of flowering plants. The rooms are all compact, private and serene, comfortably furnished and all amenities within reach, with balconies that look out at a forested hill slope across a valley. With quaint pyramidical roofs designed to serve as skylights, the interiors of the cottages come alive on moonlit nights, glowing in the silver light coming through the slats of glass.
The resort's multi cuisine restaurant is situated at the crest of the hillock with scenic views of the property. Though the menu consists of mostly pan Indian cuisine, the resident chef's forte is the distinctive cuisine from different regions of Kerala.
Misty Lake is essentially a restful getaway, where in a serene environment guests may simply rest and revive in body and mind. A game of badminton at the resorts outdoor court is a great way to unwind while the children use the play area nearby. However for those with a penchant for exploration and the outdoors the resort will organize walks along the numerous trails around the property that wind through the woods in the area. A particularly interesting excursion is a walk to the......Reservoir where one may also go boating.
We had 2 nights stay in this property, a little far away from munnar town and the approaching road is horrible. That's all that is negative for this resort. Everything else is just so beautiful n peaceful. The check in process was smooth, service was very good n timely. We planned a surprise B.Day for one of our member, a hotel boy did all the arrangements, with proper decoration n setup, special mention for him named Arif. Their restaurant staff also need a special mention called Bipin, very attentive n always there to oblige to our requests. All in all we had a nice stay, highly recommended. if you can just ignore the distance from town n approaching road
We had a very bad experience at Misty lake Resort, Munnar. We had a room booked (by Name Mr.Vijay Soma sawant) for 25th & 26th April,2022 through The Fly Creative Online P. Ltd. There were staff as manger Mr. Shrikumar & Marketing Manager Mr. Shashikumar. They allot us Room No.101 which was having no ventilation, no privacy, getting suffocated in the room. They denied our request to allot us another room. Both of them were non co-operative & had the attitude that they don't bother because they had already been received full amount in advance for the room booking. ( Attitude was like "If you need, you will go at room no.101,otherwise search yourself any other hotel nearby"). As our flight from Mumbai to Cochin would leave early in the morning, we left our home at 04.00 hrs. at Mumbai. Then about three hours later they gave us another room. Till we were sat outside (mosquito was there in large numbers.). No one even asked us drinking water / tea within that 3 hrs. waiting. The staff at this hotel don't have any kind of hospitality, so be careful when booking a room at this hotel.. Mr. Vijay Soma Sawant, Mumbai.…

Best place were we can visit multiple time. Special thanks to Abhijith, who provides us a great deal for 2 days. About resort, it was awesome. Early morning sunshine enters into the room to wake us. Upon opening the window we will get chilled air. Beautiful greenery around the resort. Spacious room for couples. Have swimming pool to chill out, bonfire in night with loud music. About food, great delicious food. Have both room services and can have food at cafeteria. Last but not the least, how come we can forget about the staffs. Really good polite behaviour, were available at our doors whenever we needed without any delay.
