Yes it is convenient as an American staying in Tokyo to pick an American chain but the Tokyo (Shinagawa) property has attention to detail down to a science in making sure every aspect of your stay is comfortable and satisfying. The facilities are quite nice as is the myriad of food and beverage options found throughout the hotel from top...

As a business traveler I finally got to take a family vacation using Marriott Reward points. The concierge staff was very helpful to me in planning for my trip to Tokyo. I emailed them a lot asking questions as I researched my stay. They were always quick to respond with helpful answers and making arrangements for me. The room was...

I stayed here for 2 nights after arriving into Tokyo Haneda with my daughter. The hotel is a short 5 minute taxi ride from Shinagawa station. Our room was spacious (for Tokyo) with modern decor and amenities. The beds were really comfortable and we slept well. The best part about our stay was the delicious breakfast! They had a little...

Great hotel overall. Platinum lounge is relaxed with great alcohol and food options. Breakfast spread is 5 star, with everything that you could ever need. Shuttle bus to nearest station, every 15 minutes from next door business center Amazing toilet with seat warmer every time you sit down! First class all round!

I stayed in Tokyo Marriott in April 3-5th. I was extremely disappointed starting from check-in through check out. Although it was clearly stated in my profile (I am a platinum member in Marriott) as well as my verbal reminding during check out, they still put me at smoking room in 16th floor. After complaining to their reception manager and staying...

I was recently in the Shinagawa area for business and found that the Marriott had a much better value for price than the other options. I am Marriott Gold due to a frequent flyer perk and it's truly the first time I felt special as a Gold, with access to the Executive lounge and free breakfast. I was in a...

We really enjoyed staying at the Tokyo Marriott, the executive lounge was as you would expect at an international Marriott - free breakfast in cafe & snacks/drinks in the evening. What put this lounge over the top was the beautiful woman who assisted us Yuki, greeted us at checkin and assisted us with directions, airport shuttles, and kept us from...

Be prepared for small rooms specially if you have big luggages. Hotel has a nice and clean room but the space is very limited. Also, you don't find ice machines as you usually do on all Marriotts around the US

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
