Great deal for the price. Awesome view. Easy access to nearby train station to get around. Close convenience stores. LOTS of old school Asakusa locations and plenty to check out in the area. Rooms are small, but great for a place to lay your head down at night. We shared a 4 person mixed room.

I like this hostel because it still retains those qualities I associate with old school hostel charm; smaller than average, packed into a side street, a Millennium Falcon of an institution for those that can appreciate the reference. So to speak it's all in it's heart. The staff was not only incredibly accommodating and nice, they went out of their...

This hostel is completely rundown. It might have been good at some point but that was long long time ago. You are required to take off the shoes but the floor isn't clean at all. Room was tiny even for a Japanese standard (and the whole hostel, including the communal area) and it really feels cramped. Bed sheets were clean...

I booked a bed in a female dorm which has 8-10 beds in the same room. It's clean. I think there was just around 3 bathrooms to share with everyone. So you better spare some time when everyone is out for taking your shower. Staffs are nice and they can speak English. I met people from around the world there,...

The place was in really good location, near to skyfree tower and Sensoji gate, the staff were so friendly. The common was a bit small but the rooms were good, no more than 4 beds in each room. I recommend this places.

Only 2,200Yen for a bed in 4 beds dorm. The hotel have very good location, easily access from Asakusa station. It takes 1 hour go to to Narita airport without train exchange. Also walk in distance to Soji temple and staff are very helpful.

For Y2,200 (US$22) a night for a bed in a 4-bed room, this place is a "great bargain" given that it's at an excellent location just like a two-minute walk from Exit A2-A of the Asakusa Station (Toei Asakusa & Metro Ginza lines) by crossing Asakusa Dori at its intersection with Edo Dori and turning left into the lane just...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
