I had such a good time staying at Nui. The staff are great, the facilities are nice and clean with a good sized communal area, it's in a good location. Plus they do really good food and coffee in the café / bar :-) I would highly recommend.

Once you have. The trains figured out you'll be fine getting to and from all the hot spot. Great maps provided show all local shops and stations. I used two of their dinner recommendations and was not disappointed. Food and coffee at the cafe is very good! Staff were very helpful getting me on my travels. Hostel has a great...

If you don't speak Japanese, Japan can be a very lonely place. The Nui hostel is a great place to interact with fellow travelers and get some good travel tips from the staff. The lounge has a really hip atmosphere that creates a very cozy yet cosmopolitan vibe. Plus once you're done hanging out, you can just go to sleep...

We stayed on two occasions (one night each) during our time in Japan. We stayed in the double riverview room and the twin room. Both were small but clean. Beds were comfortable, with a small desk and two stools in the room. Limited room for placing your luggage, but it wasn't a problem as our stay was short. It was...

I have stay here for 4 times. This place is great and peaceful. But I remember 2 years ago, some western guys force a Korean girl to have a drink. They yelled and speak very loud in the night. Besides these people, this hostel is a great one.

Where to begin - this place is lovely. It so reflects Tokyo and Japan: simple, all the right details and unlike what you'd expect. Stayed in a double with a riverview. It was really nice. VERY simple, but it was nice. Shower areas and bathroom are shared with the floor. The showers and toilets have a lot of privacy and...

Super Awesome. Nui Hostel is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in, every single staff member is extremely helpful and provides amazing customer service. This place is a perfect place to unwind after a long day of sight seeing. Very close to two main train lines and many landmarks. I highly recommend this place to anyone going...

This hostel is excellent, it has a bar downstairs so you don't have to go far to socialize. People are friendly. Staff could improve in the checking in process and be more helpful. Common bathroom is very clean. Nice innovations with the keys to the room, and a little curtain for privacy for the bunk beds. The room i stayed...

The atmosphere of this place is amazing, staff were awesome and coffee were beyond great. Literally comes back to this place every single time i visit tokyo. Tokyo tower view and Asakusa within walking distance. Pro tip for travellers, there's an amazing pasta shop just across the street.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
