The hotel is rather big and nothing special. However considering the price and the location it is a pretty good deal! The lobby is big and spacious and welcoming. Staff at the reception is ok. The lobby and elevators are always busy because there are many events and meetings taking place at the hotel. The room is small (not too...

We stayed at the Asakusa View Hotel for 4 nights in December 2014. We had a 'Standard Triple Room With City View - Non-Smoking'. Location - Fantastic. Located on a major street in Asakusa with plenty of surrounding restaurants, souvenir markets, landmarks & things to do. Huge LIFE supermarket next door.. very convenient. It's only a 5 minute walk to...

We were staying in the area (Asaksuka) at a traditional Ryokan around the corner from Sensoji temple and we hadn't booked our final nights stay in Japan yet. We really liked the area at this point and the Asakusa View being one of the tallest buildings in the area caught out attention as a place to stay for our final...

Asakusa View hotel is the perfect location for exploring Asakusa, especially small allies of shopping malls. If you walk from Sensoji to the hotel there are number of allies you can explorer, the souvenir shops and restaurants are fantastic!!! Don't be happy with just Nakamise, there are a lot more to check out in Asakusa! We stayed in the triple...

The hotel is nicely located in Taito district of Tokyo. Walking distance from local subway metro and the famous Senso-Ji temple. The rooms are average with comfortable beds. Like in any Japanese hotel, all toiletries were free including tooth brush, tooth pastes, combs and etc. Clean bath robes were also provided. Small fridge and kettle in the room. Nice Japanese...

I went there more than one time for the Sunday buffet lunch. Orderly Crowded usually (10-20 min.) but the selection of food is amazing there is even the Japanese stake and many sweets to choose from. Not cheep (4500 yen) but well worth it even for a detour. I'm hungry now...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
