CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN spotless, tiny but accessible, enough for resting and relaxing. wifi - good, balcony to chill, free soap and shampoo - i know right, like since when? so so traditional but modern at the same time, amazing staff! worth the money, so so worth the money, free...

I booked the Double B room. Though the room is not spacious, it is very comfy especially when there is a toilet inside. The beddings are very clean. Staff is very friendly and is willing to provide us with many information. There is laundry service there which is very useful for backpackers. I highly recommend this hostel!

We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Japan - they provided a brilliant welcome! Lovely park / temple complex nearby and near various stations, restaurants. Useful to have mini kitchen and tea / coffee facilities.

Ok so first off, this is a hostel, and I will review as such. Generally you will have to share a room and make your own bed...but it is cheap. Now given that it is cheap, you would not expect to be greeted by name on arrival, have an exhaustive introduction to the area, be invited to a sushi party...

We stayed here for three nights and found the staff really helpful and friendly. The communal area was good and the kitchen facilities were good. The location was far better than I thought it was going to be as it was close to the express subway and close to the big shrine. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars...

My friend and I stayed in a mixed 4 share dorm. The beds were comfortable and clean. There was a very clean bathroom equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body gel and hair dryer. The service was great and the receptionist answered our questions very well! I was able to leave my luggage at the reception and hang out in the communal...

I stayed here with a group of uni friends in December 2014 and January 2015 but i couldn't select that date, the staff are incredibly friendly and they run a large number of activities in the ground floor every day. We were here for new year's eve and the entire place journeyed down to the nearby temple for celebrations, which...

This was a bit out of the centre, but a quick tram ride, and a short 20 minute walk. It was comfortable and easy to find from the train station. The hostel staff were friendly and helpful, and let me store my things there over night while I went to Miyajima. Really, no complaints! I Also had a mix-up with...

Love this place! The location is convenient; the staff most helpful and who went out of their way to assist us when we dropped a mobile phone. It's definitely a place to return should we have a chance to go back to Tokyo

We stayed here for three nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room (double room) was nice and clean, and the location in Asakusa was perfect! What else is there to say? We just loved our stay!

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
