Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.

This is a capsule hostel with TV , personal light and electric outlet in each capsule. I always wanted to try and stay in a capsule. It is located in Ueno district close to metro station. It has several floors separately for men and women, also a sauna and lounge area. However, s

I spent a week here with my boyfriend. We stayed in the mixed dorm. I firstly found it ridiculous how men's and women's facilities were separate. And to find out that I couldn't use the advertised jacuzzi, sauna and tv room, paying the same price as my boyfriend was frustrating.

The place was under renovation when I stayed here. Hopefully they are done by now. Got the deluxe bed and never had an issue with it. Within walking distance from Keisei Skyliner and Ueno station so you can easily tour around Tokyo and travel back to Narita Airport to catch your

I have just arrived at the hotel with my boyfriend and I can't get over how overly complex it's run. It seems that men and women can't socialise together? And I am not allowed to use the tv room and jacuzzi!??????! even though they advertise it and it was the main reason I booked this hotel. Can someone clarify this for me? I outraged by this
The tv room and jacuzzi are only for the men.. the ladies only room

Anybody tried the Akasuri here? How was it? I am thinking of trying the 30-minute Akasuri when I get there.
Is it better to get the Premium capsule? Or the Deluxe (big cabin)?
Hey, I would like to stay here but I have tattoos. Do you allow that?
You may if you remain dressed in yukata and not show any of it. But it is taboo when using the sento or public bath as per my experience.

I will check in after 10 pm. Can i use public bath.
"Check what facilities are available for women before you book."
"Get the Deluxe Room. Spacious enough that I can sit inside."
"Choose a room far from the stair"
"Choose the Premium Capsules over basic ones"
"Go for one of the roomier (executive?) capsules. You'll pay a little more, but they're worth it."
