This is the second time we are staying at the same hotel. We love the comfortable room with microwave and washing machine provided for us. The rooms are small. Hotel should improve their breakfast menu or allow guests to make reservation of hotel rooms without breakfast package.

I usually stay at B Ikebukuro, but tried this one this time. 1. Located a litter further from the station but not much (maybe 5 min. walk). Closer to Sunshine city, Because of that, this hotel is quieter. Inside the hotel is quieter as well. I did not hear any sounds from the next door or outside the door during...

First trip to Japan/Tokyo but went with our son who had been previously. He suggested Ikebukuro as a little less frantic than Shibuya or Shinjuku, but still in the same metro line so east to get to everything. Hotel was very clean, breakfast options were very good, so good value overall.

Stayed here for 10 nights. Though tiny and quite dusty despite daily cleaning (with extra charges) the room is very cosy with a lot of natural light and features a washer dryer, heater and microwave. Great food halls/depachika nearby at the train stations for takeaways but a lot of walking to get to places (it's Tokyo anyway). Would recommend for...

I stayed in Tokyu Stay Shinjuku twice (price point of $270-330, twin room with breakfast) so I was pleasantly surprised to get Tokyu Stay Ikebukuro at $150, double room with bf. However, I was quickly disappointed when I saw the hotel and room (and immediately understood the price difference). Hotel was not as clean and classy as the Shinjuku branch....

Stayed here for 3 nights in November. I appreciate their service. They emailed me a confirmation few days before my arrival. The front office staff speaks well in English, giving clear explanations when I checked in. I find that the weekday price is really good given that breakfast is included. The buffet breakfast starts from 7am and is in the lobby....

I stayed one night for business and was surprised to find a full sized washer/dryer in the room. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable. The TV was hard to figure out (CNN on about 20 channels, but I'm not very tech-savvy). Large bath was nice and spotless. More free space there than in the room itself, which was dominated...

Front desk service is good . Very near Subway exit just 3 min walk....but quite far away from JR station need to walk 10 mins. If just downtown touring is a very good choice . If you will stay more than one night..they will inform you that they will not offer daily "bed making"..... I think this is ok to...

I chose this hotel because I previously lived in ikebukuro, so I wanted to be in an area I was familiar with. Plus, if you're Muslim, Ikebukuro has a few halal restaurants. This one is pretty near Malay chan which is very popular. Also, I needed the washer dryer facilities. In essence, it works. The site is okay, reservations and...

10-15 mins walk from JR station. 3 mins walk to metro station. Room is clean. Not very spacious but still enough for 2 persons with 2 luggages. Washing machine is very convenient, not noisy at all. It's a pleasure to do Landry in room. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is rather too simple for me. That will be...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
