I stayed here for two nights with my husband in non-stop room. There is no beautiful lobby, luxury restaurant or high class gym, but they provided exactly what we need, a clean room located at convenient location with reasonable price.

We stayed two nights here, finding it to be a reasonable base for exploring Tokyo. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from exit C6 of Ikebukuro station, through some narrow lanes lined with bars and nightlife. Despite reservations others have expressed, we had no issues and felt perfectly safe. Our second floor room was on a corner, making for...

The rooms are for Tokyo big, clean and have everything you want and need. Staff is really friendly, 24/7 for you there. Even if they can't speak really well english, I never had any problems as a non speaking japanese person. They do everything they can to help you. With the red Metro line, what starts at ikebukuro station. (...

Close to the train station and we found it easily. Round the corner from 7 11. Had a single room and it was big enough, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was coffee, bread, jam and strangely salad. Was very close to all the shops and sunshine city. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at the kamen rider diner which is a...

We had stayed here for 5 nights. This hotel is located not far from exit C6 of underground pathway. This exit has escalator, so if you travel with big luggage this hotel is a good choice for you. The staffs were so helpful and could communicate in good english. The room looked old but clean and roomy. This hotel provided...

Convenient location as it is close to JR Ikebukuro Station, convenience stores, restaurants, department stores, and coin laundry. Was put in a smoking room without notice. No Wifi (!) connection above 6th floor made things inconvenient (I was on the 7th floor and had to come down to the lobby for internet). Breakfast was minimal (toast+salad+yogurt). Free 24 hour coffee...

Perfect hotel in a good location, 3 minutes walk to Ikebukuro train station and surrounded by many restaurants, shops and bars. Clean and staff is always available to help if needed. Free wifi in the room. Would stay there again if back to Tokyo.

I don’t think I will return to this hotel again. There are many choices of hotels in Tokyo. I booked this hotel just because of the budget. We didn’t have any expectation though. The hotel lobby is very small and old and so is the room. When I entered the room, it smelled strange odor. The bed is not comfortable,...

I mean the Dolphin from A Wild Sheep Chase... OK, it was sold as 'breakfast included'. Breakfast comprised of salad, yoghurt, toast and coffee. That was it. Every day. The room needed updating badly. The decor was worn and old, and the places just needed a good top to bottom clean. Not obviously dirty, but just needed all the nooks...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
