After the initial shock of Shinjuku station, we managed to find the correct (west) exit, and thanks to an interactive map, found the underground walkway. Then some uncertainty, another helpful map, and some stairs (hmm), we found ourselves on the correct street, some 50m up the way, we found this unassuming, a little aged, but nonetheless charming city hotel. Ideal...

I stayed here for a night before my Japan cruise. It is located within a few minutes walk to Shinjuku downtown & only about 5 minutes walk from Shinjuku station! The rooms are decently decorated & there is good wifi in the lobby and in our rooms!

The location of the hotel was great with the train station and just right out of the main bustle of Shinjuku. That is probably its strongest point. The staff was friendly and we had no issues with check in or out. The room itself was more of the disappointment compared with other stays. It was a little dirty with some...

The hotel is very close to the airport express, and eateries. The hotel is old, and our room had a funny sewage smell, thus made the stay not as comfortable. If they can change the carpet, and remove the smell, it would have been 4 star.

From google map, you can find it is close to the subway station and a lot of shops nearby. The room and bathroom are small and the quality of materials used are also average. Don't expect it's a luxury hotel. Anyway, good price.

Kadoya Hotel is located in the busiest area of Tokyo - Shinjuku, within a 3-minute-walk from Shunjuku Nishiguchi Station, or a 7-minute-walk from the Express Bus Terminal. Just across the street you will find plenty of genuine Japanease restaurants - no turists, just business people going for lunch or after work. The rooms are small and basic, but clean. They're...

We stayed 4 nights in Kadoya Hotel. For me, the room was so small, there were 2 chairs in the room which make the room looks smaller. The amenities in bathroom are good enough. If you just need a room for sleep this hotel is good enough. Because we leave in the morning for explore tokyo and back at night...

Plus: good location, close to subway and lawson. Receptionists were friendly. Minus: Blanket was not very clean, toilet had bad ventilation, cannot turn on aircon in winter but it was stuffy in the room. Changed my stay from 5 nights to 2 nights instead.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
