For my first time out of the country, and in my dream destination, Going here is easier since a bus service take you there from the airport. Their single room is rather small for me. Their staff doesn't speak much english and it require some effort to explain things to them. I agree with most of the reviewers about their...

I recently stayed at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel for two weeks and my stay was fantastic. The hotel staff was helpful, although their English wasn't very good. The housekeeping staff was superb. The rooms are small, but that is to be expected in a large city like Tokyo. I found the rooms to be perfectly adequate for a tourist. Only...

Whether this is a good hotel or not depends on what your mission in Tokyo is about. If you are a backpacker, you'd probably love it but if you want a well earned pampered vacation or are on company business, then this is not for you. Pros of the hotel 1. Great price considering how expensive Tokyo is. If you...

The Shinjuku Washington Hotel is very well located and there is a super convenient shuttle from the airport to the hotel and vice versa every 30 mins. The hotel is a 20 mins walk from the very alive Shinjuku shopping area but at the same time isn't at the center of the noise, lights and hustle bustle. The rooms for...

Hotel room is small, but this is expected since in Tokyo~ Hotel is far away from Shinjuku station, and it had it underpass linked to Shinjuku station. The walking distant is about 20 minutes. But the underpass will closed maybe after 11 or 12pm~ so you have to walk back from the street. I get lost when heading back to...

We stayed in a triple room and there was enough room to get by. Don't listen to the whingers on this discussion board that say it's too small. It's fine. It has a small bathroom that fits a shower, toilet and basin. Sure it's cosy but you can easily get in and out and it's clean and modern. The room...

I came business conference two days to Tokyo, and this worked out perfectly. Since I was constantly on the go, I didn't really need anything fancy. I didn't try any of the restaurants in the hotel, The reception was very friendly: answered all the questions, helped in everything we need being 1st time in that city. Cleaning service came almost...

I took a one-week trip to Tokyo for sightseeing and meeting up with old friends, and this worked out perfectly. Since I was constantly on the go, I didn't really need anything fancy. I didn't try any of the restaurants in the hotel, although the Family Mart in the lobby and the 7-11 in front of the building were a...

Folks - be prepared for tiny rooms and the bathroom is almost the same size as an airplane loo! But it has everything you need and is so close to Shinjuku station. Even though we went in winter (for skiing), the room was was very hot and stuffy and the a/c did not seem to be effective at all but...

Yes it was convenient to have a underground walk way from the hotel to the Shinjuku train station. It was about a 15 min walk and quite often when you pop out from the metro, you find yourself in a totally new exit, and I found it challenging to find my way back to the hotel. (im sure it was...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
