Lads trip to a friend's wedding Pros - Location is probably the only thing I can speak of Cons (the fact that it is cheap... it could have at least been cheerful...) - Tiny room... literally had problems placing two suit cases out and open - Beds were tiny. I can touch the other bed with even having to get...

I booked this hotel after reading the good reviews on TripAdvisor, but after staying there I don't have much to say except for its proximity to Shinjuku station. Even so, it was incredibly difficult to find and we had to haul our luggage up and down a lot of stairs. Many of the locals did not know where it was...

Nice, clean room, helpful staff. Short walk to transportation to other areas of Tokyo Very nice bar, good beverages. Did not try restaurant so have no opinion of in-house food or service. Hotel is close (walking distance) to variety of restaurants and night life.

I don't have a lot of experience to compare this to recently, as far as hotels in Japan go, but I will say that the location, at least is fantastic. I just read that someone else posted that it was near the red light district- I really should have done more research. Haha! First impressions: Clean. Small (but actually very...

Can't get any closer if you wanna stay in the center of the red light area. Kabukicho, notoriously known for men wildest dream escapade is just a stone away when you stay in this hotel. There are many hostess clubs, love hotels, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs. The area has many movie theaters, and is located near Shinjuku Station, Seibu Shinjuku...

I stay at the Shinjuku Prince every chance I get. The rooms are average size (for Japan), clean, and the beds are comfortable. It is very close to a train station (Seibu-Shinjuku) and about a 10 minute walk to a huge train station (JR Shinjuku). The hotel staff are always friendly, and the rooms are a decent price. I stay...

I recently stayed at Shinjuku Prince for a weekend trip to Tokyo. The staff were pretty dour but were able to take of the basics without any problems. I was on a fairly high floor so I was lucky enough to have a sweeping view of Tokyo, and didn't hear any noise from below. Yes, the rooms are cramped, but...

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip to Japan, and we loved it. The room was small (as is to be expected for Japan) but very comfortable and clean. The room also had a great view! There was no minibar, but each floor had vending machines with snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and the rooms had...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
