I booked my trip quite late in the year and most hotels were booked out. Found a good deal here and grabbed it.
Pros: walking distance to Yotsuya JR station, and a metro station, which makes traveling around easy. Size of room was larger than...More
Easy to find and a short walk from Yotsuya JR & Metro station, the hotel is above 'Pizza Salvatore' on Shinjuku-dori.
Staff very friendly and as usual in Japan, very helpful and efficient. All spoke English fairly well. The rooms are small, but comfortable, with...More
Greta place to stay. Really nice bars and eateries just steps away from the hotel. Family Mart and its kinds of shops also steps away. Train station a few minutes walk. Rooms don't feel so small. Staff is friendly and smiling all the time. Will...More
Chose the Hotel for its excellent central location. Has minimum required facilities. Has an excellent Pizzeria on the ground floor which is really good. The Pizzeria is small and serves drinks and buffet lunch also.
Rooms are Japanese style, small in size but functional.
After reading the reviews I'm gobsmacked. The room was comfortable and clean but after staying in numerous hotels in Japan, that always pay attention to detail, this hotel falls short. Here's a couple things to consider. The room amenity of a Green Tea Kit (see...More

Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.

There are Limousine buses from narita airport to a lot of places in Tokyo center, in fact they drop you at all the major hotels in Tokyo. I am not sure in there is a specific one to the Mitsui Grand, but you could just ask them and they would be happy to help.
other alternative is you could take the Narita express train (red colour) which takes you to Tokyo Station and from there change to the Chuo Line to get to Yotsuya station. The hotel is a 2 min walk from yostuya station. If you take the train you can reduce your travel time by almost half.
Hope this helps. let me know if you need any further information

We stayed for 5 nights in a recent trip to Japan and had a small double room. I'm a big person and my husband isn't small and we had no problems. The bathroom was a good size and the bed was only a double but very comfortable. We found it very enjoyable and ate at the pizza restaurNt next door on two nights. We would definitely go back there. I guess the overriding note is that we were only at our hotel to sleep and read email/plan the next day but we spent about two hours per day awake in our room.
