This hotel is well located, just steps from Shin Okubo station on the JR Yamanote Line which connects you to Tokyo station and the monorail to Haneda airport. It's just a few minutes into the centre of Shinjuku. While situated in the Kabukicho area, it's not close to some of the seedier streets with the love hotels etc. The staff...

Location is good. Just that the bed is old and not so comfortable. Picture looks good upon booking but when actual stay the room is dark. Overall value for money. Front desk are very helpful. Simple and nice breakfast.

This is a five star budget hotel. Room was clean, and the room service was prompt. The location is simply perfect because you about 3 min walk from the Shin-Okubo station. You also next to a grocery store and tons of cheap eating establishments. The breakfast here was the same every day, so if you stay more then three days,...

We are a family of 4 (kids aged 5 and 9). Whilst in theory the rooms are set up for 3 people, we found the beds big enough for all of us. There is a double and king single (same length as a double, slightly wider than a single) - big enough for two kids. Strangely only three pillows and...

It's cheap by Tokyo standards but small and the bathroom is a bit hard to live with but it's really well located right near Shin Obuku station JR line a few minutes walk. Check out 10am and check in 3pm. Shops next door such as supermarket and mainly a Korean area I think from the look of the cosmetic shops....

Very nice and cheap hotel, very close to Shin-Okubo station on Yamanote line. The hotel is cca 100 m from the station. Location is great, Yamanote line circles around Tokyo and all important touristic sites are max 30 minutes away. Even Shinjuku station, with all the shops is only 15 min on foot. The hotel is in the main street,...

Really good location , small room but was clean and did what we needed for a 3 night city break. I would recommend and return. The receptionist spoke amazing English which really helps as not many people do so we had lots of questions for her which she was happy to help. We were right next to the station so...

I stayed at this hotel for 11 nights and I couldn't be happier. The room was clean, the staff very friendly and spoke English well, and the wifi was really good in my room. If you are staying at this hotel after a stay in another part of Japan, they do accept luggage delivery and the day you check out,...

This hotel is located on the left handside of Shin-Okubo (JR line) station. There's a supermarket on the right of the hotel. It's located at a very convenient spot where you can get Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore (24-hours), 100Yen shop (just right behind Matsumoto), 24hours convenient shops & so many eateries near this hotel. The only problem with this hotel is...

We had a great time in this hotel. It's in a great location. There are Shin Okubu and Okubu stations within walking distance. Lots of cheap food shops and supermarkets close by. The laundromat is 2 mins walk down an alley. Felt very safe. Rooms were clean and spacious enough. Bathroom was small but again it was clean and hey...who...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
