Pros : - Cheap Room Rates - Ultra Clean Rooms with awesome daily cleaning services and fresh Towels, Robs, sheets, everything when required. - Free Cable Internet Access - Beds and pillows...

I arrived into Shinjuku via airport bus and hopped straight into a cab and it took him only a few minutes to find the hotel. Once settled in I worked out it was only a brief walk from the station but to find it initially would have been hard on foot. When I left I walked to the station with...

We paid 18.000 yen per night for our stay here. This price included a light breakfast (sandwiches + drinks from the reception to be eaten in your room). Location...

Having seen the Villa Fontaine website we had high hopes for this hotel. Alas we were very disappointed from the minute we walked through the door. We appreciate that hotels have a check-in time however through-out our trip to Japan most hotels tried to accomodate us if we arrived a couple of hours early. The Villa Fontaine said that we...

The Hotel Villa Fontaine chain's latest addition is the stylish Shinjuku hotel. Located right in the middle of Kabuki-cho, Japan's entertainment capital, it may not suit those looking for a traditional Japan experience. However if you want to be located close to some great bars and restaurants than look no further. The hotel opened in June 2008, and the rooms,...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
