This is a wonderful cozy place for anyone looking to be in Tokyo! It is run by a darling couple and their Kabuki-loving mother. They serve a nice healthy breakfast, and for a small fee have delightful foods and beverages throughout the day. They are very welcoming, yet allow you enough space. The rooms are as clean as can be. There is an army of housekeeping folks who keep the place sparkling. The staff helped me plan sightseeing events, and upon leaving I felt like one of the family. If wholesome, clean, friendly are what you desire this is the place. It is also located near some wonderful restaurants, where on different nights I experienced some great sushi, Yakitori, Chinese, and Izakaya(tapas that were out of this world). All these places plus a traditional Sento bathhouse all three minutes away by foot. These is also a main JapanRail train station about a five minute walk from their quiet little neighborhood. This is a great place to stay when visiting Tokyo. Located in a charming quiet neighborhood, only a short taxi drive away from the central Shinjuko district. The neighborhood has several excellent restaurants and a nice onsen. Rooms are spotless and are in the traditional Japanese manner. The ryokan is run by a charming japanese family, very kind, obliging and generous. They will help you a lot with any questions you might have. Western style breakfast is included. Try this place-you will like it! More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
