If you are considering the Lonestar then that's because you have discovered it is quite cheap compared to other hotels in the vicinity and you are wondering...'well...how bad can it be'? Actually it's not bad at all. Is it cramped? Sure, but you just need to sleep there a night or two. You don't hang out in your room. The...

Travelling around Japan and have stayed in much nicer hotels. While the location is great, that is about all this hotel has going for it. The rooms are cramped, you expect that in Japan, but they had shoved two beds in a room designed for one bed and called it a 'twin room', and the beds are hard as rock,...

Room is your typical small Japanese hotel room but the amenities made the exceptionally hard bed something we could overlook for the 4 days we were there. Full size body, shampoo and conditioner as well as facial soap. Has a supply of new hair brushes, hair tie bands, make up remover if needed. Daily change of your basket of towels,...

I have been to Tokyo many times and this hotel was the last one I stayed before I decided for airbnb. If you are the first timer to Tokyo, and you wouldn't want to get confused, this is the hotel for you. Great location and good price ! It is very near to Shinjuku, basically somewhere near the junction very...

It's a tiny hotel room but perfect for 1-2 nights for exploring Shinjuku. Probably too small for extended stays. Booked a smoking room because it was all that was left and was concerned it might have a strong smoke smell, but did not smell of smoke at all. Smoking rooms are on the 7th floor. It is a small space...

Anyone who has stayed in Tokyo knows it isn't a cheap place for accommodation. So I personally think that this hotel lived up to what I had paid. My boyfriend and I just wanted a simple place to stay that was reasonable priced, had a comfy enough bed, our own bathroom and easy to get around from there - and...

We are in tokyo for 7 days and we found no other accomodation for 100eur per night with a such good position (shinjuku) and such good service. Rooms are small but very clean and tidy. The metro station is 100meters far from the hotel. Personel is super kind. Suggested for a medium to long stay in tokyo!

This hotel was perfect for the gay scene, right next to Ni-chome 2 nightlife. The rooms are tiny but have everything you need. It's walkable to Shinjuku main station but Shinjuku San-chome is just across the road. Lots of nice places to eat locally and easy access to the rest of the city via the metro.

This is a tiny hotel in the heart of NiChome, the gay district of Japan. It's very small, which is normal for Japanese hotels. The price is great with it being so close to all the action of NiChome. Helpful tip...if you think you will have a guest for the night it's best to pay for 2, as no to...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
