For some reason, capsule hotels in Japan still primarily cater to males so discovering this one I consider a gem. Located at the center of Shinjuku, you just need to look for Toyo Building and in one of the floors is this (together with other pubs and karaoke so it can be quite easy to miss). Aside from location, to...

For many foreigners, the legend of Japanese capsule hotels holds a fascination. What would it be like to file yourself away in a box for a night inches from strangers snoring off sake? This is the place to find out - minus the snoring. Actually everyone local is very polite and respectful of the need for quiet in the sleeping...

The location is perfect for Shinjuku. But, as with any capsule, it was hot and noisy with many people snoring. What I would advise anyone staying here, would be to bring a small fan and/or ear plugs with you for white noise. In addition, the capsule has zero ventilation, so you have to leave the shade open otherwise you'll roast.

Stayed six nights. All the essential amenities in place. Clean linen and towels, well stocked and spacious bath area. Laundry, lounge and restaurant on the fourth floor along with plentiful vending machines. Two WiFi spots to choose from. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable with at least a couple of them fluent in English which is helpful. Access is...

If you do your research about what a capsule hotel is and what it has to offer then you will not be disappointed if you go. Cheap, different , good experience. Most of the time I made it back to my capsule in the five nights I was staying there I was a little tipsy , so I just passed...

Stayed here with 2 friends for a capsule hotel experience in Japan. It didn't disappoint me. Finding the entrance might be challenging. Direction from the website is not helping either. Instead we found a review of this hotel with more details on how to find the entrance. We only stayed here for 1 night when we arrive late in Tokyo....

The entrance is difficult to locate because it's in a foyer which is off street level. It was a very good experience. Close to bars and eateries. It is about 15 minutes walk from the Shinjuku train station. The express train to Narita airport stops at this station. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone seeking a capsule hotel...

Does the job. Strange check in procedure, in which you put your shoes in a locker and then give the keys to reception and they will give you a different key for a different locker for you to put your bag and clothes in. Capsule itself was obviously small - just enough room for me to sit up inside (I'm...

I stayed here on a solo trip to Tokyo in November 2016. In the heart of Shinjuku and about 15 mins walk to the main Shinjuku station. Perfect for a solo trip It was a bit hard to find initially. And you may walk past the pin on google maps several times before you find it. Remember to take off...

The place is a bit hard to find from the Shinjuku Station itself, but manageable with a google map. Upon arrriving you would leave your luggage at the locker area and can proceed to the capsule. Tips: - if you are a solo traveler then this place is perfect for you - backpacks is way convenient if you check-in here...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
