This negative encounter at the reception gave me a very bad start to my holiday in Tokyo. I have actually booked and paid for a Economy Double Room at Sunroute since January this year. Thereafter, I was considering a Twin Bed room which could be better as I was travelling with my mum if there is any such room available,...

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights and are really hope with this choice. The location in Shinjuku is very convenient with a metro station next to it. The airport limousine coach stops here for ¥1,000 and the return trip starts here for the same fare. It's within a walking distance to JR Shinjuku station. There are many good...

This is the first time here in this hotel. I was told that this one has small room but I think for this price it is more than reasonable. I spend my last trip at a 5 stars hotel not far away. This trip we spend 3 days there and moved to this one. I will say for half the...

Really great location - the room was clean, easy to get to from the train and good places to eat around it! I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. Staff was lovely - so helpful with dinner recommendations and when we lost something in the hotel by leaving it in our room after check out.

Stayed here back in May 2016 and it hit all the spots! It was close to the Shinjuku station, about a 4-5 minute walk and very close to a food district filled with so many different choices! I didn't mind that the rooms were small because, after all, this was Japan. And my boyfriend and I spent more than walking...

The Sunroute Plaza is my first choice of hotel when visiting Shinjuku primarily due to three reasons: The location The restaurant The bar The location remains excellent, of course - a short walk from the station and from the restaurants and bars of Shinjuku. This time round I was disappointed with the restaurant. On previous trips this has been a...

Stayed for 7 nights with my boyfriend. A nice hotel, friendly staff, very good location close to an area with a lot of restaurants (don't worry about the "red light district", it's at least 15 minutes walk away and not all that bad byt pretty fun to just walk through). The rooms are very compact, as they are in Tokyo,...

The location is definitely good! First, the limousine bus from Narita airport directly stop infront of the hotel and vice versa, hotel to Narita airport. The JR Yamanote line train station is just about 7mins walk. The JR line is your key going to Disneyland, Shibuya, Odaiba (Diver City) etc. The whole hotel is very pleasant and modern but the...

Apart from a somewhat rude Receptionist by the name of Horri that spoke really good English but unfortunately really bad phone manners that talks over you by saying "Listen listen now listen" to the guest it was a really great Hotel ! being close to everything in the better part of Shinjuku with some eateries opening 24hrs. The rooms are...

This hotel is very well located with a short walk to the large shinjuku shopping district and station, one of the busiest in the world with 2million people a day. The hotel is comfortable efficient and a great place to stay with easy access back to the airports with the shuttle buses stopping here.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
