This was my first stop on my 3 week adventure into Japan. I booked a weeks accommodation here and absolutely regret it. The staff here are incredibly rude- being able to speak Japanese but being from Australia I was able to understand a lot of what was going on here. Firstly, the staff are rude to foreigners. If you can't speak...

Room: small but sober and convenient. Check-in efficient and service oriented Design: sober and modern Terrace: great. It's rare to have outside terraces in Tokyo. In room services: it was a good surprise to get free water on day 3, I suppose it was forgotten the other days.

Originally booked for four rooms for one single night, when two of our colleagues could not make the trip, we try to have two of the rooms move to the second night and pay any differences, hell no, either Hotels.com's customer service is inadequate in dealing with the hotel, or the chain belong to a ridiculous company. I will never...

I stayed at Unizo for 12 nights and didn't have any issues, at all! The location was amazing - away from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya, but literally around the corner from all of Shibuya's central shopping district, restaurants, bars and most importantly, the scramble crossing / Hachiko / Shibuya station. Staff were all professional, friendly and could speak...

Been coming to Shibuya for a couple of years now and this is the best hotel I've stayed in. Great location, clean, smart and lovely staff and breakfast and great breakfast quite trendy feel. Also love Tokyo hands and it's really close.

Small room but clean and well set out for the space available. The room is small but typical of a Tokoyo hotel, although I thought price was quite high for a room this size. As we travelling with two large cases it was actually difficult to open them on the floor space available. Staff were welcoming and the room was...

A typical Business Hotel, Unizo is one of a chain of hotels that are specifically for short stay type customers. The room was remarkably small, however, I expected that. I took a star off the rating due to the size of the room. Otherwise, I think the hotel is actually really good. I noticed that other reviewers think that the...

No doubt that Hotel Unizo has a great location, being close to Shibuya station but still in a quiet area, and for this I have stayed here several times. This despite the fact that they probably have one of the worst and most unfriendly service levels that I have experienced in Japan. I have been travelling extensively in Japan and...

Standard compact Tokyo size. Felt like an ikea catalogue demonstrating how to live in a small space but got cluttered easily. My room had such a terrible b.o. smell that was most unpleasant. Some of the staff service wasn't up to Japanese standards. No English tv stations. Decent location but nothing really special. Wouldn't return.

I stayed at Hotel Unizo Shibuya for 5 nights as a solo traveller in a single room. The location is absolutely perfect: right in the heart of Shibuya, unlimited restaurants/shopping/convenience stores literally right on the doorstep and only about a 6-7 minute walk to Shibuya Station. The room was small, but this is obviously expected for a Japanese hotel room....

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
