this was my second stay at this hotel and i was very happy, will stay again when i visit tokyo sometime in the future. the hotel is peaceful and quaint, about a 15-minute walk from shibuya station. the location is excellent for tourists as you save a lot of time as almost all large attractions are directly accessed trough the...

This is a good value for money option in Tokyo. The en suite rooms with separate toilet are far more spacious than the average Tokyo hotel, and the tatami mat beds were really comfortable. Its location near Shinjuku was convenient. However there are some drawbacks: cleaning Is done early each morning so if you head out after 11am your room...

I had the misconception that this was more like a ryokan (traditional Japanese accommodation). It's really a basic hotel in an old house with Japanese style beds and floors. Some rooms have shared showers with toilets/sinks in the room, and you can pay more to have a private bathroom. The front-desk service is ok. Smoking is allowed in the lobby...

I paid $180. including tax per night for this Ryokan, which was more a hostel than anything else. I liked the overall feel of the place mind you and I feel that the direction of their approach was sound but the over price warranted a demotion of a star and the bathroom also warranted a demotion of a star. SO...

We stayed in the double Japanese style room. It was wonderful!! Really clean, large room. Own bathroom and delicious matcha tea on tap in the vending machine as well as a tea set in the room. The staff were wonderful and so polite. It was the real Japanese serene experience where we had to take off shoes on entry etc....

We stayed here just for the experience really which I'd recommend if you've never stayed in a traditional Japanese style hotel before. Room was very clean. We had a private bathroom which was TINY but again part of the fun! Futons and traditional pillows were comfortable, you can request a western style pillow if you struggle. The best part of...

Stayed here for the last 2 nights and two more nights to go. Wonderful place with nice day time staff who are most helpful to help in any way. My family of 4 booked the biggest room which can have 4 futons laid out and yet have space for us to move around and have ample space to store our...

Our room had plenty of space for 4 futons for the 4 of us staying there. The pillows were the more traditional rather tough pillows (i think they were filled with beans?) which is fine if you're used to it. The futons were some of the most comfortable I've experienced in Japan so far! The bathroom had a bathtub and...

Staff were freindly, helpful and polite and made our stay at this wonderful traditional style Japanese hotel a delight. Location and price also made this a highly recommended place to stay just up the road from Shibuya crossing.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
