The hotel was situated in a fantastic location, easy to access public transportation. The down side was the pillows were like rocks l, I suggest you bring your own. Rooms were clean and tidy, with a nice shower.

Very clean. Nice bathroom. Very convenient location. It's just opposite the Hanzomon subway station. There's a convenient store opposite the hotel. Very nice breakfast buffet. Ask the concierge for cheaper subway tickets.

Highly recommend this hotel. Easily the best breakfasts of the five hotels we stayed at in Japan. Ideal location - metro station is right across the road and two Family Mart convenience stores within a block. Only problem is the rooms are small - but this was partially our own fault because we had a guest bed added for a...

Located in the upmarket embassy Hanzoman district this is a good 4* hotel. The staff are keen and willing although the breakfast chief waited could do with a humour injection. Room was neat and well stocked with bath etc kit. The window has an opening function which is useful as it gets stuffy in the heated room. Bath is small...

Stayed here with the wife for 4 nights. It was a clean hotel with friendly service. Checked in at about 1am and the receptionist was friendly. The Hanzomon station is literally across the road. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. The room is self was nice and clean and compact. The bed was a bit small for a...

Thank you very much for staying with hotel Monterey Hanzomon. Like you told, we are very close to Hanzomon station. We are more business hotel like our guest rooma are not so big ,we do not have a restaurant and we offer breakfast at the banquet hall. We hope you enjoyed your stay and come back near future.

The bathroom was updated and very nice. The room would have presented well if the carpet squares didn't look beat and cheap. Fortunately, Japanese hotels provide slippers! We had the buffet breakfast both nights, it was $30 each, but very nice, with many options to choose from. Staff was pleasant and customer service top notch.

It's on a relatively quiet street. Located centrally in Tokyo. Conveniently near the Hanzomon Station with the exit that has an elevator. :) There is a 711, family mart, dotour and grocery nearby. There is also a fruit & vegetable stand nearby. Room had 2 outlets: one on the table and one near the door. they give complimentary bottled water...

Hotel is in a quiet area of Tokyo, a bit of an oasis, across the road from a main railway station, lots of places to eat nearby, walking distance to the Imperial Palace gardens. The room and bed were comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Particularly when I misplaced my camera and they helped me locate it and get...

The hotel has rooms that are quite reasonably priced, however their "double room with small bed" are exactly as stated: both the room and the bed are really small, although perfect for young lovers, dwarfs and pygmees - without too many suitcases.... The staff at the front office are really nice and helpful, only their knowledge and understanding of the...

Thank you very much for staying with hotel Monterey Hanzomon. As you mention, double room with small double bed is small. bed size is only 120cm wide. Price is reasonable if the size doesn't matter. We are sorry for the language skills but we will continue to work on that. Thank you very much for your time and comments.

Stayed here in 2013 on my first trip to Japan. The hotel is in an exceptionally quiet area near the embassies and the Imperial Palace. There is a subway stop right across the street and you can also walk to many downtown locations from here. It's difficult to make a reservation at this hotel because it's such a good bargain....

Thank you very much for your stay. As you mention, we are not five star hotel . We don't have room service or restaurants . We only serve breakfast at the banquet hall. Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
