I've been to japan a few times, but never had the chance to stay at a proper capsule hotel. I booked this place because it was centrally located and seemed to be a lot more foreigner friendly than others (especially for those who have tattoos). Checking in - The place was really easy to find and less than a few...

The rooms are cleaned daily, staff try to be helpful and are friendly. You have to check out by ten am everyday which can be annoying if you were at a karaoke bar until 5am! It's very near train station, lots or restaurants nearby. Lockers are good but not big enough for larger luggage. I found it hard to find...

Should have realised a place located in the sleazy part of town would be the place drunks end up in at midnight mid week so they don't have to commute home! We chose this place to experience a capsule hotel for one night. I didn't sleep as the only thing between you and the rest of the world is a...

The location of this capsule hotel is very strategic - a few minutes walk from JR train station and tokyo metro. Its near to a 24 hour mart and a 24 hour fast food chain matsuya. Its small compared to other capsule hotel that I have been but its very clean and have all basic amnesties that I need including...

Stayed on the female floor for 2 nights and have no complaints. Capsule is cleaned every day and though it is a bit inconvinient that there are shower hours for men/women the bath is great after a long day in Tokyo

Yes, this may be the cheapest place in Tokyo. Very clean capsule and they change capsule every day for every one to do the cleaning. I know a little Japanese so check in and out was easy and I understand what the staff was saying. The shower room is public but male and female have different time to use it....

This was the first place I stayed in Japan and was here for two nights. The capsules are bigger than I expected and include a personal tv, radio, and alarm. There are 3 slight downsides. The first is the bath house for showering. I was a little uncomfortable in an open bath house where numerous men are all naked and...

Sounded like a great thing to experience and had always heard about them! It didn't let me down! Staff spoke decent English and provided directions to locations we had been needing to locate. More room then I had originally expected inside the pod capsule! personal TV, radio, light, shelf, and plug-ins to charge your phone. You receive one free locked...

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

“If you have larger luggage bring some locking devices for the zippers if they do not fit in your locked cabinet/locker. Noticed other luggage bags on the main floor had metal wires looping through their zippers and around the metal baring with a lock on it to prevent anyone from walking away with it. (good idea)”
