Neighbourhood
Kanda, Akihabara, Ochanomizu
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

We spent three nights here and were impressed by this minimalistic concept of a hotel: Incapable reception staff, self checking machines that do not work properly, absence of the otherwise so abundant Japanese hospitality, alibi breakfast buffet (toast, jam, salad, soup), and fluctuating levels of...More

This is really more of a business hotel for travellers not expecting tourist-friendly services. It's a little old but extremely clean. We had a room with two beds (mattresses a bit on the soft side but they were due for replacement when we arrived), a...More

Having stayed at a nice hotel in Kyoto, I was very disappointed when we arrived at this hotel in Tokyo. Its position is very good, only 200m away from Tokyo station, and the room was ok.. maybe quite large for Tokyo, but the window wouldn’t...More

Hi! This hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the Kanda Station. You can just get off at the Kanda station instead of the Tokyo station?

Not a miso soup as you imagine it. It is more a broth with nothing inside. Although quite a good one.
