We stayed two days at Hotel Laguna Mar. To get to the hotel we have to drive 50-60 km along a dusty road not paved. First impressions were great. Looked like a modern stylish 3 star hotel. Check in was fine, staff were friendly. The room was Clean, beds were pretty comfortable. Food: excellent service, small portions and overpriced, the...

After staying for 4 nights in room nr9 (penthouse) we have mixed feelings about this place. The room was a good value for the price that we got through expedia but because of all the great reviews, we set our expectations too high and were bit disappointed. The hotel is in a remote (far from any city) but noisy location...

“We thank you for taking the time to write a review about the hotel. As you might have noticed, the Laguna Mar Hotel is situated far from touristic facilities made for tourists, so welcome to the real wild life... And as in real life, a breakdown of the filtration motor can happen, some bulbs can blow, power cuts can happen...

The hotel is OK... for the price. Owners were courteous and polite. Staff was great!! It's a small hotel. I felt it more on the budget side than on the boutique side. - The restaurant is very good ($25 a meal p.p.) - Pool is small and we found it a little dirty (closed one day as well) - The...

We stayed here for three nights and had a great time. Jean Luc and Pablo were excellent hosts and treated us like family. The food prepared by Pablo specifically for us was awesome! He literally came out and asked us what we'd like for dinner and what was fresh. My italian wife watched him make homemade fresh pasta and was...

Jean Luc is a great host, we had a great stay at the Laguna Mar. The hotel was a great place to relax and spend a few days. Review the area before traveling, it is remote, which is exactly what we wanted!

I am sorry that your stay do not match your expectations, September is very particular, it's the rainy season and can't be compare with the dry season. Here the beaches are quiet and private however many activities are available right there: surfing, waterfall, canopy, hiking, kayack, the butterfly eco farm , monkeys, bikes, snorkeling, turtles nesting, massages, spa ayurvedic treatment,...
