This is a typical English Village pub, with a very friendly landlord / bar staff. We experienced a warm and friendly visit, even with a bit of banter from the locals. If you're dining, the home cooked food (3 x course) is superb. Garden area for the children too.

My husband and I had visited before, so we were hoping after praising it to friends they wouldn't be disappointed. We needn't have worried, from the moment we all stepped through the door we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. The food was well cooked and presented with fresh vegetables and...

Hands down the best Pub Roast I've ever had. Proper fresh crispy potatoes, homemade yorkies, big selection of perfectly cooked veg served in separate platters. Bursting at the seams, trying my best to shake it down to my toes to make room for the great selection of homemade desserts. Staff very helpful and attentive. #Emily.. Absolutely will be coming back...

Having heard good things about the Royal Oak, decided to visit for the first time in about 15 years. Was very impressed with both the quality of the food and the extent of the menu. Wasn't as keen on the bar area as the last time that I visited, but will certainly be back.

The landlord and all the staff were very friendly. Good home-cooked food with plenty of choice and large servings for big appetites. Lots of fresh vegetables which always makes a meal in my opinion. We will definitely visit again.

We booked to stay the night and have dinner and what a lovely experience it was. The staff are amazing, Toni and Emma welcome you in... the room was impressive. Excellent facilities. Lovely quiet room, felt spoilt. We ate in the restaurant that evening. Well thought out courses. Interesting choices especially the vegetarian options. We had three courses and loved...
